U.N. Will Spend Wednesday Debating Whether “Mother Earth” Deserves Human Rights Status…

(Fox News) — United Nations diplomats on Wednesday will set aside pressing issues of international peace and security to devote an entire day debating the rights of “Mother Earth.”
A bloc of mostly socialist governments lead by Bolivia have put the issue on the General Assembly agenda to discuss the creation of a U.N. treaty that would grant the same rights found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to Mother Nature.
Treaty supporters want the establishment of legal systems to maintain balance between human rights and what they perceive as the inalienable rights of other members of the Earth community — plants, animals, and terrain.
Communities and environmental activists would be given more legal power to monitor and control industries and development to ensure harmony between humans and nature. Though the United States and other Western governments are supportive of sustainable development, some see the upcoming event, “Harmony with Nature,” as political grandstanding — an attempt to blame environmental degradation and climate change on capitalism.
“The concept ‘Mother Earth’ is not universally accepted,” said a spokesman from the British Mission to the U.N. about Bolivia’s proposal. “In general, our view is that we should focus on tackling important sustainable development issues through existing channels and processes.”

The same Mother Earth that erupted the volcano in Iceland, shutting off flights in and out of Europe? The same Mother Earth that sent Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans? The same Mother Earth that just sent devastating tornadoes to the East Coast?
And these lunatics want to give Mother Earth rights to protect her from us?????
I’m actually left speechless on the insanity.
Global warming is a theory. There is actually more evidence the Earth shifts on its axis gradually over time which would explain the melting polar ice caps. After the Chilean earthquake and the Japanese quake the Earth was reported to have moved more than 8 feet after each quake. It has probably gone on for many decades or even centuries. We have never had the ability to observe it before now. I have always been a critic of global warming in part because there is too much dishonesty in politics. For example: they don’t know how to admit when they are wrong,etc.

This sort of move seems crazy and juvenile until they establish an international court and start fining countries for Crimes Against The Earth. The un has stated they want $100 billion per year to fight AGW, and they also want to charge a fee for all international banking transfers.
The UN has no human rights.. who are they to decide about human rights?

Seriously. Earth started this fight, so she can’t complain about her treatment.
