I do not agree with Code Pink’s philosophy, but I don’t agree with West’s comments either. Any implication of “woman’s place is in the home” rings quite sour in 2011. Do I agree a woman should bring up her kids? Yep. I moved my office home when I became pregnant. Do I believe a man should bring up his kids? Yep, that also. The right is going to accomplish nothing but alienate a TON of people by harping on personal home issues such as abortion, gay marriage, etc instead of the issues that really affect the US as a whole. Focus is on what IS the government’s business. And the name-calling here of whomever Annie might be or might look like does nothing but put us at her level. Let’s retain some dignity.

If you watch the entire ~15 minute speech he gave you’d see that nowhere in it does he say or even imply that a woman’s place is in the home? Why would a woman have to be a subservient house maid just because she encourages her man to be strong and stand for something? He doesn’t think that. I don’t think that.
