I know, the horror of having to learn American history from an (gasp) American perspective!
TUCSON — Rowdy students take over a big Tucson school board meeting in protest.
It’s a pretty wild scene — and it’s all over a Mexican-American studies class, a class that teaches history from a Mexican-American perspective.
Here’s what’s going on.
The governing board of the Tucson Unified School District was supposed to consider a plan that would make the class an elective, rather than a required class, like it is now.
A state law passed in December basically discouraged the classes, saying they segregate students. And this group of students wanted no part of it.
They took over the room, chanted “fight back,” and basically ran the governing board out of the meeting.
Security tried to come in and tried to take the students away, but many of them apparently chained themselves together.

A vast majority of Mexican Americans are proud to live in American and love America. Mexican’s are also pretty diverse with such notable people as Alvaro Carrillo who was a singer of Black descent and famous film director Guillermo Del Toro is White.
The first thing the governing body has to do is “govern”… drag these idiots out and, if they don’t want to be respectful, bust them and give them community service .. this is how all disruptive and disrespectful protesters should be dealt with.
They don’t get to force their will upon others, and showing them deference when they try to do so, only encourages them to do worse. You’d think these people would have learned this by now.
Same goes for unions, and the kind of crap that happened in Wisconsin. Michael Moore and Jesse ‘the scumbag’ Jackson and any other out of staters who come in to agitate should be busted, fined and given community service.

I’m all for teaching Mexican history if its done truthfully. It should include the corruption, violence and general lawlessness in Mexico.

If they want to learn Mexican history from a Mexican perspective then go to school in Mexico. Who is teaching this course? Why should American taxpayers foot this bill ? American schools should teach American history? And I agree, all disruptive protestors should be arrested and in my opinion jailed.
If they want to learn Mexican AND US history they might want to include a little detail called the Gadsden Purchase, just for starters. The US purchased southern Arizona and New Mexico, to include the area around Tucson, from the government of Mexico by treaty in 1854 for $10 million. That represents somewhere around $39 billion dollars in 2010 dollars, as a relative share of GDP.

Two women who had requested to address the board, one from Guatemala and another from Peru, were shouted down, cursed and physically threatened when they confronted the brats. They countered the self-proclaimed “citizens” of Aztlan by saying, “I’m an Inca,” and “I am a Mayan,” but counted for ZERO because they are opposed to La Raza indoctrination in our schools and raised their children to become good Americans.
Another Lefty POS present with the kids was Isabel Garcia, Pima County Attorney, who is notorious for using her office for radical political purposes and once led a demonstration against Sheriff Joe Arpaio where she paraded the decapitated head of his effigy around on a stick to the cheers of her minions.
County Supervisor, Chuck Huckleberry, has refused to fire this commie harridan, which kinda indicates to me that he agrees with her subversive and destructive activities. Our city council is just as progressive, governing us into HUGE deficits but STILL spending….

It should come as no surprise to anyone that La Raza objects to American history being taught from an American perspective, and making Mexican-American studies an elective. Look at their charter. La Raza doesn’t believe they are living in America; they believe they are living in American-occupied Mexico. And they want to ensure that all students of Mexican descent (and everyone else too) believes that as well.
If we don’t wake up, one of these days we will discover that we have a “Palestinian problem” in the southwest just like the one the Israelis have.
