Palin Mocks Couric After Report She’s Out as Anchor of CBS Evening News…

(The Hill) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) made it clear Tuesday night there is no love lost between her and soon-to-be-former “CBS Evening News” anchor Katie Couric.
The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee scoffed when asked about the anchor’s departure from the position she held for over four years. Couric conducted a wide-ranging, tough interview with Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign, for which she later criticized the anchor.
“Yeah, I think I read that in a newspaper, one of many newspapers that I read . . . online,” Palin said during an interview on Fox News.
Palin referenced a well-known portion of the interview, during which Couric put her on the spot about her favored publications.
When Couric asked what newspapers or magazines Palin reads, the nominee answered, “I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.”
This time, Palin took a shot at Couric’s reported desire to move onto a project that will allow her to do more “multi-dimensional story telling.”
“Yeah, and I hear that she wants to now engage in more ‘multi-dimensional story telling’ versus I guess just the ‘straight on, read into the — that teleprompter screen story telling,’” Palin said. “More power to her. I wish her well in her — ‘multi-dimensional story telling.’”

Not a fan of Katie Couric but Palin is the exact opposite of Bush. Where Bush would foolishly in my opinion never, ever respond to any attacks (fair or unfair), Palin has this need to settle scores with people and therefore responds to almost every single attack. Nobody took Katie Couric seriously as an anchorwoman.

At the very least Couric finished out her contract where Palin quit half way through an obligation to the people of Alaska. How can any anyone say that the question Palin couldn’t answer was tough? What publications do you read…wow real tough!
I love Sarah, but Jimmy Page has a point. GWB was vilified but never stooped to give a reaction to the people who said horrible things about him. I know Obama has also made remarks about private citizens and that was not Presidential behavior either. If she has national aspirations, she must accept that criticism, no matter how cruel or unfair, comes with the turf. I believe she’s capable of stepping up to that level of greatness. She is refreshingly forthright, but she can do better. She doesn’t need to express schadenfreude. That’s OUR job!

I think it okay that Sarah gets in a little dig here and there – she isn’t POTUS (at least not yet), she is a private citizen and can do as she pleases. I also agree that far too many Repubs just roll over and hardly ever fight back – it is far past the time that the left got their teeth kicked in here and there. As to Bush never stooping to give a reaction – well, one can argue the point, but that first year after his re-election was miserable. I wrote to him, to Cheney and to Mrs. Bush begging them to defend Bush from the plethora of lies being pushed about him. It is one thing to be petty, but it is another to let lies be repaeted until a lot of folks believe them just because they are not denounced with factual information – Bush could have done that, and he didn’t. By the time he decided to saddle up on a few issues, it was far too late – in fact he basically caved on the whole WMD thing. He allowed the left to re-define what WMD meant, and I can tell you that I know a Sergeant in the US Army who was pissed at that. His words to me were, “Well, I guess those city block sized warehouses that I personally helped empty of WMD just did not exist”.

ThomNJ, I really doubt that WMD’s were found. You can’t cover up that kind of find. Besides IF they were to have found some Bush would have been more than happy to have shown them to the world to prove that what he had done was in fact reasonable.
@SoCAL – I absolutely believe that WMDs were found – what was not found were nuclear weapons – only the plans and some equipment needed to get started. Were abundant chemical weapons found? Yes. Were some old biologicals found? Yes.
There actually was, at one time, a US government website that was listing the English translations of Iraqi documents that gave support to this as well.

As to her stepping down, if you haven’t done your own research regarding the 18 frivilous lawsuits she defeated (costing her $500,000, the state over 1 million and her staff thousands of hours) then you cannot be helped. There were 20 more lawsuits lined up when she stepped down. THAT’S how much the soros machine feared her.
