Three Convicted in Terror-Related Cases Later Granted U.S. Citizenship by Obama Administration…

(CNSNews.com) — Three people convicted of crimes as a result of a terrorism-related investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) were later naturalized as U.S. citizens by the Obama administration, according to federal auditors.
The March 2011 audit (released on April 21, 2011) by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), entitled Criminal Alien Statistics: Information on Incarcerations, Arrests and Costs, shows that three individuals were among “defendants where the investigation involved an identified link to international terrorism but they were charged with violating other statutes [not directly related to terrorism], including fraud, immigration, drugs, false statements, and general conspiracy charges,” referred by DOJ as Category II terrorism-related cases.
The three individuals in question can be found in a DOJ list of unsealed terrorism-related investigations conducted from Sept. 11, 2001 through Mar. 18, 2010. There are 403 defendants on that list of which, according to the GAO, at least 43 percent were aliens — both legal (26 percent) and illegal (17 percent) — at the time they were charged with crimes.

The only thing I find that is a problem is that when I went to the story at the CNS website it does not give the names of the three. It provides a link to a GOA Audit report, 71 pages long. My question is simple. Why are the names of the three not in the CNS report? Perhaps later today, when time allows I will wade through the 71 pages and see if they are there. But I would think a good report would have included them if they are available.

I also was hoping for the names, too – I went to the DOJ report, but it is a long list, and my quick look did not discern the “three”. I’ll look again later when I have time, and I will post the names if I find them. Please post them if you find them.
I plan on calling and writing my Congressman to ask why and how anyone convicted of crimes here can get citizenship.

Well, actually nothing happened, so nobody really needs to claim it didn’t.
The CNS article itself pretty thoroughly says these 3 people have nothing to do with terrorism, aren’t suspected or charged with that, served no jail time for any offense and have been judged to pose no threat to the US, just like every other person who was granted citizenship.
The worst thing the article claims is that they can write a story in a way that suggests these non-terrorists are terrorists. This part is clearly indisputable.
From what I can tell, CNS has also confused “Category II” cases of a particular type with something else entirely.
The DOJ report provides examples of Category II offenses – ranging from piracy to genocide to war crimes etc – and then a list of convictions like the Fort Dix plot.
CNS is connecting these Category II offenses as somehow being related to people who aren’t suspected of being involved in terrorism and got no jail time for forging papers etc.
It’s a little hard to believe this isn’t a misleading link. Unless the fake ID I made for myself says I’m Saddam Hussien, I really can’t see me falling into the “reserved for evil masterminds” list.
