Huh? Pretty much every military operation carried out since 2003 has been successful, when they do occur. There are a number of factors why the insurgency is still alive and kicking, but unsuccessful military missions isn’t one of them.

The ship President Bush was on was heading back to the U.S. their mission had been accomplished. They were firing missles into Iraq. President Bush spoke on that ship. He wasnt saying that the mission in Iraq was accomplished, only that particlar ship had accomplished it’s mission.

The only thing I believe he’s done correctly was change the way we deal with the Pakistani’s, The increased drone strikes & his willingness to go into Pakistan with our own troops ought not be shrugged off.
I disagreed with GW Bush on that position always felt the Pakistanis were double dealing us & surprise they were.
However the military planners & the Special Ops forces deserve the the bulk of the credit. Obama gets my respect for his willingness to get the eff out of their way & allow them to do what they do best. Get within striking distance of the scum of the earth & eliminate it.
He has been right on his Pakistan Policy. But batting 1 for 100 means I’ll still never vote for him.

If this happened before Bush left office, there probably would have been chants of USA at the Mets game, but you wouldn’t have had college kids celebrating in the streets and the media would have put some sort of negative spin on the raid as being “too violent” (likely towards his family used as human shields) and the dumping the body in the ocean as “inhumane”. Time magazine would have ran the cover with the “X” over Osama, but with the title, “At what cost?”.
