U.S. Targets Muslim American Traitor al-Awlaki in Yemeni Airstrike…
(Wall St. Journal) — The U.S. launched a drone strike in Yemen on Thursday aimed at killing Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born radical cleric suspected of orchestrating terrorist attacks in the U.S, but he evaded the missile, Yemeni and U.S. officials said.
The attack came days after a U.S. Navy SEALs team killed Osama bin Laden at a compound in Pakistan. Had Thursday’s strike succeeded, the U.S. would have killed two of the most-wanted terrorists in a week.
Mr. Awlaki has emerged as a leading charismatic front-man of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a group the U.S. considers the world’s most active terror organization. With bin Laden’s death, some officials believe Mr. Awlaki and the Yemen-based group now represent the gravest threat to the U.S.
He has been linked to at least three major incidents: the Ft. Hood shootings, the Christmas 2009 plot to blow up a U.S.-bound passenger plane and a plan to blow up cargo planes.
The attack appears to be unrelated to intelligence information taken in the raid that killed bin Laden, whose death was confirmed by al Qaeda Friday in a statement that vowed to continue attacks on Americans.

This POTUS was literally brought up through the ranks by the CIA and has been falsely portrayed in the media as a radical. The stunts he pulls here are basically a distraction from the covert work that he was actually trained to do.

I had family members over there helping to fight the Soviets during the war and there were many different camps. You did not mix with some of them at all!
When by chance, they came to close proximity of OBL’s bunch, they either got the hell out of there or kept a very very low profile until they could get out of the area.
They knew that some camps (even then) were very anti-American and anything that they happened to get that was American made, was indirectly through their fellow Mujahideen.

I think you are correct. This is all Political to win re-election and to tell you the truth, it would be the same if a Repub was in office…. Think Nixon and Vietnam. I believe that they are finally going after High Value Targets with a higher priority now in the hopes that if they kill off enough of them that somehow it will allow them to “End the Wars” and bring the troops home… and Americans (Libs) will suck it up and say, “see, he did it and ended the Wars and did just as he said he would!!!”, so lets keep him for another 4 years. Then he can REALLY tank us… it’s all a game to them. As far as I am concerned, Muslims know only one way to fight a war…. you kill the enemy with such force as to make them capitulate. Thomas Jefferson knew it and ended up getting his own copy of the Koran… that is the only thing they understand and they know that they can and will wait it out and try again when better conditions exist for them that they can take advantage of. If you want this shit to stop, then you when they blow up your embassy, you take out a whole city of theirs… they kill 3000 of yours, you kill 3 million of theirs…. trust me… when you fight like that with the understanding of, “You stop and we will stop too”, initially everyone might hate you, but they will hate the ones that pissed you off more… this police action shit we have been trying since the end of WWII just isn’t working.

Bush then spent the rest of his term running up the deficit, handing the oil wealth of Basra to the Iranians, outing under cover CIA agents, torturing a few small fry and second stringers to look tough for Rush Limbaugh, listening in on American phone calls — while OBL was in a damn military cantonment in hill station less than 100 miles from Islamabad.

Question the lefties should be asked: Is it OK for a Pres to assassinate an American citizen? Like or not, he was born in New Mexico, and last I checked, that qualifies you as American.
The lefties should be held to their high moral standards. Why aren’t they shocked and demanding Al-Alwaki be captured and brought to trial? Be sure that Obama’s methods are adhered to: Mirandize him , serve him tea, politely ask if there’s anything he’d like to offer, then have a nice expensive trial in NYC.
