Washington — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), when talking to Capitol reporters, said that Fox News makes it difficult for him to garner support for his stance on immigration reform, which includes a “pathway to citizenship” for illegal aliens already living in the country.
The senator, a member of the Judiciary Committee, said that Fox News using the word “amnesty” during the 24-hour news cycle has hindered support for his position on reforming the U.S. immigration system, which lawmakers on both sides say is broken.
“In today’s world, it’s very hard for bi-partisan agreements to be formed,” said Graham, “because those who don’t like what you’re trying to do are able to generate a lot of pushback early on, so this 24 hour news cycle makes it very, very difficult, but not impossible.
“Let’s talk about immigration. When Fox News is saying ‘amnesty’ 24 hours a day, it makes it harder for me to get people on my side,” he added. “When the left, through MSNBC, talks about the tax cuts being a sell-out and going back to Bush policies, it makes harder for our Democratic colleagues.
“My statement to my colleagues is even though people are loud, that doesn’t mean they’re the majority,” Graham continued. “So if you’re doing things that make sense, just trust the country to figure it out, but in this environment of constant media scrutiny it is very difficult. I don’t know how you would have written the Constitution in this environment.”

These idiots in DC have talked themselves in to believing that ” you can’t deport 11 million people”. First of all if were to be by force , it’s expensive but it can be done as the USSR/ China proved. If the govt were to enforce current law and punish employers who hire illegals, most would leave because there would be no support network.
The reason they stay is because they get welfare, housing, medical and other assistance. Cut it off and tell them their offspring born here can’t stay and they will leave.

By the by; in 1998 friends of mine living Lower Eastside NYC -she a Danish actress, he an Italian sculptor (they had a son born on American soil) had legally immigrated to America in 1992 through the sponsorship program and began builidng their lives as American citizens(they never broke any laws). In 1998 they received an INS letter stating they had to leave because their sponsor HAD A TAX PROBLEM.
Ruling Class asshat Graham it is easy to deport citizens (even legal citizens), all that is necessary is for the IRS to help the INS send a f*&king letter!
That deportation did tear the family apart, a year after being thrown out of the country my legal immigrant friends divorced.

Please, explain this “ruling class” thing to me. The Founding Fathers were the elite of this nation, wealthy, successful, and far above the “average” person who was against independence. At the time, less than 30% of the people in the Colonies wanted independence. It was rammed down their throats by the elites – the wealthy plantation owners, doctors and lawyers. Yes, their stand on independence cost them, financially, but without their personal wealth and resources they could not have done what they did.
While you are castigating Lindsey as an “elite and a ruling class” – please look into his background. He grew up over a pool hall, the first person in his family to go to college. His parents’ death left him with tremendous personal debt, which he paid off, while working his way through college.
No one is farther from an “elite”.
