California: Oakland Elementary Schools Teaching Kids There Are More Than Two Gender Options…
Today’s lesson, “chicks with dicks.”
(SF Gate) — A one-hour elementary school lesson on gender diversity featuring all-girl geckos and transgender clownfish caused a stir in Oakland on Monday, with conservative legal defense organizations questioning the legitimacy of the topic and providing legal counsel to parents who opposed the instruction.
On Monday and today, Redwood Heights Elementary School students at every grade level were being introduced to the topic of gender diversity, with lesson plans tailored to each age group.
The school also teaches students about the variety of families at the school and takes on the issue of bullying.
“If we don’t have a safe, nurturing class environment, it’s going to be hard to learn,” she said. “Really, the message behind this curriculum is there are different ways to be boys. There are different ways to be girls.”
So, fourth- and fifth-grade students learned about the crazy world of gender within the animal kingdom with lessons about single-sex Hawaiian geckos, fish that switch genders and boy snakes that act “girly.”
“That’s a lot of variation in nature,” Gender Spectrum trainer, Joel Baum, told the students. “Evolution comes up with some pretty funny ways for animals to reproduce.”
And that same kind of diversity applies to people too, said Baum, the education director for the San Leandro nonprofit. For example, some boys can act like girls; some girls can have boy body parts; and some biological boys feel like a girl inside their hearts, he said.
“It turns out that there are not just two options,” he said.

Do kids of this age, elementary school kids (kindergarteners?), really need to be “taught” this stuff? They’re in the dark about their own bodies, never mind the subject of transvestites. And it’s not like any transvestite students are going to “show” at this young age where elementary school kids would need to be familiar with them for purposes of “tolerance”.
These are middle school (7th/8th grade) topics at the very least.
Hopefully the kids will have the common sense to know that THEY are not animals!! But if the parents are ok with this… Oh well when they get into contact with muslimes and start talking this kind of garbage I guess they’ll get their comeuppance!!
Hey moonbats, how about sticking to the basic skills like the three Rs.
A shocking number of kids nowadays can’t spell, write, read well, or do
basic computations.
Ya know, kids in elementary school have really more important skills to be acquiring– such as oh, READING, MATH, learning to write basic sentences and short paragraphs, science basics (NOT climate hysteria), team games, beginning music, etc.
That is the school’s job– basic prep for good citizens. The job of the PARENTS is to monitor and also teach good manners, health, nutrition, cooking, religion, etc. I don’t stop being my child’s parent when he enters a school building, and I DON’T want him confused about something that he has no confusion about. Most kids aren’t confused at this age– even the ones who will probably become gay on entering adolscence. (I grew up with a kid who was always universally acknowledged from 5 yrs on to be gay, made his friends who were girls their proms dresses– yeah, last I heard he was a dresser for Universal. So it happens, probably to the consternation of his stern German father.

What a bunch of bullshit. The whole gay rights thing isn’t about choice its about confusion. Its like those sick doctors that butcher boys and girls at a young age in some twisted attempt to prove that gender can be controlled by man. Oh and an addendum to the end of that quote “unless you are a boy that wants to act like a boy or a girl that wants to act like a girl.” Some of those people are confused/ashamed cannot accept themselves and strive to wreck society so they’ll feel normal.
Must be eaiser to teach this “sub” subject than to face the problem of bullying. Got it. Create the atmosphere that accepts everybody and hope the bully won’t find his victim.
I would prefer they teach self defense techniques and dicipline.

Something much too old to teach modern kids. Im glad that as a human we dont have long life spans as ill be gone within the next 4 decades or so. Yes. True. However, a boy is a boy and can certainly BEHAVE as he is taught – just as a girl can. What they are doing is TEACHING them not to be boys or girls – but some aberrant strain.
Otherwise, a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl as they grow up WITHOUT being told to be something else. Very few develop the aberrant and deviant sexual behavior on their own.
Regarding the “chicks with dicks” school lesson, who did the teachers use as an example Moochelle Obuttma or Hillary “The Rod” Clinton or both? Just wondering.

My last kid graduates high school in a few weeks. He has had to listen to some insane perspectives such as boys are really girls on days they “feel” like one, but I think he will miss the pure evil insanity which is about to explode in public schools. If Obama is re-elected, I imagine boys will have to pork boys in health class just to understand how beautiful it is.

Gender identity disorder is a mental health issue but do they teach that of course not they’re trying to normalize abnormal behavior. Wanna know what’s next on their list? Normalizing drug addiction and alcholism as “Human Conditions” and who’s responsible? Let me get this straight. There are not enough hours in the day apparently to teach things kids really need in order to proceed to the next level but they can take valuable instruction time out of the day to try to equate human sexuality with the ‘diverse animal kingdom’? If they want to teach this in a science class as an interesting aside while discussing reproduction in the plant and animal kingdom that’s OK…it is science. But they are twisting this as some sort of parallel to human sexuality and that is completely bogus. OH…and elementary school students are too freaking young to be indoctrinated with this BS. If I had a child in that school they would be so out of there. Public schools are child abuse.

This kind of stuff was covered in biology when I was in school, in a “look at nature’s diversity” way, not this sick indoctrination. What’s next, promotion of adult-child sex?
