Obama Chooses $1,700 Wine During Dinner With British Royals…

Hero of the working class.

(US News & World Report) – Finally, after two straight presidents who didn’t appreciate the taste of a fine French burgundy, Buckingham Palace tonight had a chance to put on the Ritz for a first family who enjoy a long dinner and luscious wine.

Most notable from the wine cellars of the famous palace: A Echezeaux Grand Cru 1990, Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, that goes for $1,000 - $1,700 per bottle in the United States.

There were a bunch of other wines, like Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin champagne and a very nice $170 1963 port President and first lady Michelle Obama, who are noted for dinner dates at Washington’s finest restaurants, have probably had before.

But the Echezeaux Grand Cru 1990 is a different thing altogether, something even reviewer Robert Parker says is a rare treat for the super rich. He gave it 93 points in 1992 and, of course, it’s only supposed to get better in the bottle.

In a blind taste test, he wouldn’t be able to distinguish that wine from ripple.

Like he knows the difference between that and Ripple!

Why the fuck would the Brits invite this trash after all they’ve done to insult them? The Queen should’ve served them Ripple or ThunderBird. The Chicago thugs wouldn’t have known the difference. Or, maybe she did?

Hey Jimco, same thought process, you beat me by one minute. I guess you type faster! Isn’t it funny what everybody is thinking about this.

No doubt he’s the type that picks the most expensive (whatever) on the menu, no class folks usually do when its on someone else’s dime. Like the time I worked at Waste Management and the general manager took us all out on ” Secretaries Day” which included Admin, dispatchers and the like. to Red Lobster for lunch. Most ordered normal reasonable dishes, but of course there were ghetto queen types who ordered lobster. What in greats. Next year we all just got a box of candy and a bud rose.

Its a story to show how much he (doesn’t) care about the US and what hypocrites they are. How many Americans have died this week and their cities been destroyed by tornadoes? Do you think the obama’s care?

While we have people devastated here at home from the tornadoes…yet the msm remain mum.

Furious, disgusted and embarrassed of this supposed so-called man.

  10. Teacake says:

What’s even more pathetic Diamond Girl is what Glen Beck had to say about obama… rather having discussions with Netanyahu over what is one of the worlds biggest issues, that he just up and leaves town for Ireland to discover his Irish roots and get drunk.

Leaving town and not discussing the issue at hand? Worse snub than last time when he left Netanyahu alone to have dinner.

Hmmm… $1700…let’s see…(1) bottle of wine or (1) house payment + (1) month’s utility bills + (1) month’s car insurance + (1) student loan payment. I don’t think the bottle of wine is in my rich, white, middle aged, private sector non union job monthly disposable income budget. Let’s see, did I forget to mention gas costs, home repairs, OH WAIT!!>>>I AM ALL WRONG..I AM ACTUALLY CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIETY INSTEAD OF SLUMMING AND MOOCHING OFF OF IT!

    Patriot Sam,
Respectfully, it’s a story because 1) of the sheer hypocrisy of these two carrying on about how they understand the daily struggles of the poor 2) The fact that he’s a Democrat – a supposed standard-bearer of the lower classes 3) the fact that if Palin or Bush had done this, the JournOList media would be going absolutely insane and 4) The fact that these two drink $1700 a bottle wine while the rest of us are broke, unemployed, or on the battlefield.

It was Queen’s best wine, and it was likely given/presented to her.

She was likely saving it for a special occassion.

Perhaps it would be the night after, when could relax after doing their duty being classy and polite instead of showing the door to beavis and butthead.

    I’d party that night too.

You FReepers, Tea Baggers, bitter clingers and other assorted peasants just don’t appreciate all the work this brave man and his lovely wife do on your behalf. They have almost singlehandedly kept the Wagyu beef, lobster, fine wine, jet fuel, travel arrangements and golf equipment industries afloat during these trying economic times (Bush’s fault!) and did it all with grace and style.

Did Buckingham Palace buy the wine or did the US taxpayers? As I read it, Buckingham Palace did. It’s on their dime. Doesn’t look like Obama made the choice. Not that he wouldn’t given the choice.

My Brother is in Joplin right now they are trying to dig out a Wal-Mart
1500 people are missing and presumed dead and I just spent from 11 am till 4 pm stuck in a Wal-Mart with my mother and sister in Rolla because of several tornados crossing through the town.

Just got home. they touched down right outside the doors but nothing happened to us., we were very lucky. there were so many little kids in the store the people who work for Wal-Mart were amazing they passed out cookies ,chips, water broke out chairs and toys for the kids to keep people calm.
still it was scary as hell.

We were able to tell my Brother and other first responders in Joplin where to look for what we hope are survivors on account of how our Wal-Mart had all of us stationed .

Obama and the Wookie are pigs No one wants them in Joplin as a matter of fact people are pissed their coming because they are going to take away police, fire and emergency workers for dipshit and fuckface these people want to be helping uncover bodies or finding what they hope are live people.

Today scared the shit out of me. the ordeal we went through was crazy and it made me all the sadder for those in Joplin because now I know how they felt.
it was awful .. My Brother said its worse then the news is reporting its horrible
they things he has seen, he and all the other first responders are devastated the children’s bodies are the worse.

    fuck obama.
