Christie Pulls New Jersey Out of Regional Cap-And-Trade Program…

Christie +1
Comments & pings are closed.(The Record) — Governor Christie said this morning that he will pull New Jersey out of a regional cap-and-trade energy program.
The move drew strong criticism from environmental advocates who argued it was a rollback of clean energy efforts. But it was supported by business groups who said the 10-state Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative was a burdensome energy tax.
“We will withdraw from RGGI in an orderly fashion by year’s end,” Christie said.
RGGI is a cooperative effort by Northeastern and mid-Atlantic states to reduce carbon dioxide emissions 10 percent by 2018. To do so, power plant operators such as PSE&G must purchase allowances from their host states to cover each ton of carbon dioxide emissions they are likely to produce. The companies can then buy, sell or trade their permits. Companies that reduce their emissions and don’t need all their allowances might sell them to a company whose emissions exceed their allowances.
The proceeds are to be invested by the states in energy-efficiency projects and developing renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power.
“It’s a failure,” Christie said. “RGGI has not changed behavior and it does not reduce emissions.”

Sounds like Christie is cleaning up his RINO resume for some reason… maybe there is hope for him yet.
Ya and maybe he’s just cleaning it now and will flip flop right back IF he were elected President. Why NOW Mr Christie ?
Please run
Everyone **** Environmentalists, Greens, the ACLU, the EPA, the NLRB, are all evil organizations intent upon bring down America by whittling way at our Constitutional rights. We must stop them in every way. Thank you Governor – that’s one for the team.
Go Christie.
RGGI is evil. I caught wind about what they were doing about a year ago.
His energy policy was a MAJOR problem with Christie for me…
+1 indeed.
Additionally,
Environmentalism is a mask for Marxism. (Like every other social program [control] that the liberals come up with)
Christie is a fat northeast liberal RINO blowhard bastard. How any one that calls themselves conservative could support him is beyond me.
Good move Mr Christie!
Conservatives take your victories where you get ‘em. While it is true Christie is not a dyed in the wool conservative, he is no liberal progressive either.
Small steps will lead to the goal. We, as conservatives, must stop the backsteps and come together as a team to stop the fascist left.
We need a candidate who could win not one who shares every single one of our conservatives values, which is why i want Christie.
Could you imagine what would be if we put up the candidate we love most but then lose and get Osama for another 4 years?!
So now we just have his refusal to sign on to the ObamaCare lawsuit
Support of the GZ Mosque
No interest in controlling immigration or immigrants
No problem with gun restrictions
Appointing a Muslim to the state supreme court.
Sarah Palin 2012!
This program is about government taking control of corporations, it starts out as regulation, grows, moves money around, and becomes a tool that government regulators use to infiltrate and dominate business.
I like what Milton Friedman said:
Put government in charge of the Sahara Desert and in 5 years there will be a shortage of sand.
Sometime, M1, tell us what you REALLY think of Christie.
I call him a NE liberal RINO a lot, but fat, blowhard basturd was like adding an exclamation point….
Christie is a drinker of the glow-bull warming kool aid. He isn’t sure WE’RE causing it, but he’s certain that it’s happening.
One trick pony – took on the unions and THAT’S IT!!!
Yep Christie still embraces the glowbull warming standard, he just didn’t think this particular program was the way to go. He talks a good talk much of the time, but that’s one big ole’ horn growing out of his face.
Christie is no friend of the counter jihad, and therefore does not resist the encroachment of 7th century barbarism a.k.a the “Religion of Peace” anywhere nearly strongly enough to get mine or any other culturally aware Conservative’s vote.
RINO indeed.
Carbon Credits anyone? Anyone?
Purchase “allowances”? What does that mean other than the same emmisions are being put out, but now, money is being paid to some snake oil salesman (the Greenies, EPA and the Fed. Gov) for looking the other way and issuing “get out jail free cards”.
What a scam……………
A year ansd a half later-what took him so long?
Oh I forgot, Christie is a shapeshifting chameleon looking to possibly bamboozle his way into the presidency just cuz he beat down a bunch of teachers to show he can take on the tough Teacher’s Union Thugs.
Or maybe he is planning to run so he can absolve himself from having played the shell game of those RGGI funds to bamboozle NJ budget massive pothole?
I do assume that if he decides to run for President-after only a year and half of being Govnenor, the Ruling Class GOP a$$hats will proudly declare that Chrisite RESIGNED (without a single Marxist Lawyer crawling up his va-jay-jay)rather than employing their duplicitious ‘quitter’ meme?
“he is no liberal progressive either.”
Taking funds from RGGI (bogus commie scam meant to save the planet from ourselves) and using those RGGI fund to fill your budget gap is a very Liberal Progressive thing to do.
Looting the RGGI funds is no different than looting the Social Security ‘trust fund’.
What Christie did with the ponzi RGGI scam is a prime example of Liberal Progressivism and the only reason he won in NJ was because he is a Liberal Progressive who was just a little less corrupt than Liberal Progressive Corzine.
Christie should stay in NJ where he belongs; don’t let him anywhere near the Republic.
Finger thrust boldly into the air.
Bitterclinger – YES!
Since my links don’t seem to work, look at NewsMax to see that Christie still believes in man made global warming, just not the RGGI.
He doesn’t believe illegals are here illegally and still won’t join the suit against Obamacare – do a search on new jersey conservative christie myth to get all the lowdown from a local conservative.
