If he insists on bringing up Triumph of the Will, I have to bring up the documentary of it’s Director’s life. There is a three hour documentary on German on the life of Leni Riefenstahl named the Wonderful, Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl, it was financed by Riefenstahl late in her life (IMDB says it was released in 1993) and uses some of her own old footage, and that’s where it gets ugly for the Left. There is a Hitler speech in there where he riles the crowd up using “hope” and “change” rhetoric, it’s a little bit spooky to watch.
People with Down Syndrome are almost never ever nasty or vindictive. People with the Sulivan set of genes are never not.

Palin Derangement Syndrome is close to universal among hard-core feminists and other leftist women. You can’t find a more passionate Palin hater than Amanda Marcotte, for instance. Jane Hamsher’s another.
Palin is a strong woman who has achieved power, which is what feminists claim to admire. But she’s done so while rejecting their political agenda. That would be bad. But what really sets them off is that she also defies all feminist/leftist rules about how women are supposed to live and present themselves: she’s good-looking in a traditional style, she’s happily married (to an oilfield worker who races snowmobiles), she has FIVE children.

Palin is worse – she embodies a dismissal of that class’s self-appointed position. Bush was a Yale and Harvard graduate, at least (as were the Clintons). Palin went to a “hick” school, yet shows no deference to the “elite”. This is intolerable insolence.
