I would have preferred that he not show up to lay that wreath and walk on hallowed ground. He can keep playing golf if it means it keeps him from screwing our country even more.
Is it me or does he just seem to conveniently pass by places to give a quick speech he jotted down on a Post-It Note like the Jefferson Memorial on his way to the links?
What is barry really doing when he goes out to the golf course? Is there any evidence that he played golf before he started posing as our president? Who takes up an extremely difficult and time consuming sport when one has just taken on what should be the most stressful, time consuming job in the world?

Boehner plays over 100 rounds of golf a year. So, comparing President Obama’s 70 rounds in 2 1/2 years, Boehner would play 250 rounds in 2 1/2 years.

How many rounds of golf has the average golfer shot this year? Excluding retired and wealthy folks, no one gets out on the links that much, we don’t have the spare time(18 holes is always 4-5 hrs) or cash. Obama sucks

The Speaker of the House does not have the black box. The Speaker of the House cannot issue executive orders. The Speaker of the House cannot send combat forces into action on a whim (aka Libya). The words of the Speaker have far less impact on foreign relations than those of the POTUS. In short, a few words or an action/reaction of a president can have massive ramifications almost instantly. The Speaker is no the commander-in-chief. That’s just the way reality is.
Boehner may well indeed be spending too much time on the links but comparing the Speaker to the POTUS is an apples to oranges comparison. Your implication here is “conservatives are doing this too, only worse!” A juvenile argument and it shows that you evidently believe that Republicans are automatically die-hard conservatives. It isn’t so in Mr. Boehner’s case as you would learn if you actually read more.
@ Pendog – absolutely correct! Not just golfing, but “down time” in general. Not a big Bush fan, but he was absolutely excoriated in the press any time he went to his ranch despite it being a “working vacation” And that didn’t cost the taxpayers anything.

My parents were Truman democrats and they(and Truman) don’t even recognize todays democrat party.
The country wasn’t at war when Eisenhower was in office, the Korean War was pretty much done. That is the difference. When the country is good, doing great go play golf, when the country is in dire straits you stay off the golf course (you sure as hell don’t play on Memorial Day out of respect) and you don’t take lavish vacations. It is that simple.
