Feminist Group Demands MSNBC Suspend Ed Schultz For Calling Laura Ingraham a “Slut”…

Still no word from NOW.

(Daily Caller) – The feminist media watchdog group the Women’s Media Center (WMC) is calling on MSNBC to suspend television host Ed Schultz for calling conservative talker Laura Ingraham a “slut.”

“While conservative bloggers and watchdog organizations are highlighting Schultz’s remark, the Women’s Media Center also calls on MSNBC to suspend Schultz for his comments, since they not only attack Ingraham, but all women,” the group wrote in an alert Wednesday. “Ms. Ingraham is no friend to the Women’s Media Center, but a sexist and misogynist attack based on her gender and not her political views or comments is harmful to women in media, politics, and beyond.”

Schultz called Ingraham a “talk slut” and a “right-wing slut” on his radio program Tuesday for her criticism of the president’s trip to Ireland while the Midwest was reeling from severe weather.

Gallup: 57% Say They Won’t Buy an Electric Car No Matter What The Cost of Gas…

The Chevy Volt (aka- the official car of the Obama administration) hardest hit.

(USA Today) — Nearly six of 10 Americans — 57% — say they won’t buy an all-electric car no matter the price of gas, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll.

That’s a stiff headwind just as automakers are developing electrics to help meet tighter federal rules that could require their fleets to average as high as 62 miles per gallon in 2025. And President Obama has set a goal of a million electric vehicles in use in the U.S. by 2015.

The anti-electric sentiment unmasked by the poll shows that pure electrics — defined in the poll question as “an electric car that you could only drive for a limited number of miles at one time” — could have trouble getting a foothold in the U.S.

Such cars “are very much niche vehicles. They find acceptance among a core group of passionistas, but too many questions remain for mainstream consumers,” says Edmunds.com CEO Jeremy Anwyl. He says consumers worry about range per charge, recharge time and battery replacement cost. Electrics also are priced thousands of dollars more than similar gasoline cars.

Bill Clinton Channels Alan Grayson: People Will “Die Quickly” Under Ryan Budget Plan…

Being the ambulance chasing lawyer that he is, Caveman Congressman will probably sue Bubba for stealing his line.

(Daily Beast) — Bill Clinton is wading into the red-hot Medicare debate, slamming Republicans for hypocrisy but not sparing his own party.

The Third Way is back, however briefly.

At a “fiscal summit” Wednesday sponsored by the Pete Peterson Foundation, Clinton said President Obama’s effort to trim Medicare spending helped cost his party the House. “The Republicans ran to the left of the Democrats last year,” he said. “They excoriated us for all these savings now embedded in Congressman Ryan’s budget.”

Clinton threw a roundhouse right at Paul Ryan’s plan, approved by the House, to turn the health care program for the elderly into a voucher system. Not only would that approach fail to cut costs, he said, “people will use less, get sicker and die quickly. Or they will be poorer because they’ll have to spend so much of their money on health care.”

Soros-Funded Left-Wing Media Reaches Over 300 Million Every Month…

King of the Electronic Brownshirts.

(MRC) — Books, newspapers, radio stations, TV stations, websites and cutting edge videos. The pieces of the George Soros media empire are as diverse as the nations of the world and just as widespread. From nakedly partisan left-wing media like Think Progress, the blog for the Center for American Progress, and a TV show on MSNBC, to the supposedly impartial National Public Radio, Soros has impact on the flow of information worldwide.

It gives him incredible influence. Every month, reporters, writers and bloggers at the many outlets he funds easily reach more than 330 million people around the globe. The U.S. Census estimates the population of the entire United States to be just less than 310 million.

Just counting 13 prominent operations of the 180 media organizations he has funded equals 332 million people each month. Included in that total are big players like NPR, which received $1.8 million from Soros, as well as the little known Project Syndicate and Public News Service, both of which also claim to reach millions of readers.

And that’s really just the beginning. That tally takes into account only a few of the bigger Soros-funded media operations. Many numbers simply aren’t available. ‘Democracy Now!’ – ‘a daily TV/radio news program, hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez’ – is known for its left-wing take on global news.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry Refuses to Rule Out Running For President…

(Texas Tribune) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry just can’t seem to shut the door on a 2012 presidential run.

With conservatives aching for more choices in the approaching 2012 Republican primary, Perry declined Tuesday to rule out a White House bid during a press conference about a new anti-abortion measure. Also Tuesday, his top strategist told the Tribune that the governor is, naturally, “thinking about it” given the flattering comments made recently by some in the GOP, although he “doesn’t see any change in his direction.”

Perry’s remarks Tuesday were similar to a statement the governor gave to reporters last week — namely, that he won’t get “distracted” by talk of a presidential campaign. Perry is, after all, in the throes of the 2011 legislative session, where weighty matters like sweeping budget cuts and immigration restrictions are being considered.

But Perry’s non-denial denial is a little more significant this time because he was asked specifically if he would “rule out” running for president.

Video: Joy Behar Says Sarah Palin Is a Bad Christian…

Because when one looks for spiritual guidance, Joy Behar is the first name that comes to mind.

JOY BEHAR: She says she’s Christian, does she read the Bible? Has she read the Constitution?

EX-PALIN AIDE, FRANK BAILEY: I never saw her read the Constitution. I never saw her read the Bible.

JOY BEHAR: You say she’s vindictive, that’s not a Christian value, personality trait, to be vindictive. I don’t think Jesus meant for people to be vindictive.

UK Reaffirms Ban on Michael Savage Entering The Country…

And yet Islamists move freely between the UK and every Islamic craphole on Earth.

(Daily Mail) — Controversial ‘shock jock’ radio presenter Michael Savage, who was barred from entering the UK two years ago for his extreme views, has had the ban reaffirmed.

The Conservative-led British government announced in July it would only lift the ban initiated by the previous Labour leadership if Savage took back statements he had made on his broadcasts that were deemed a ‘threat to national security’.

And while the U.K has never specified which comments it found so dangerous, an attorney for the British government has stayed true to its threat, reaffirming the ban.

The Right-wing radio presenter, whose hardline views on Islam, rape and autism have caused outrage in the US, was identified in May 2009 by then U.K. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith as one of 16 people barred due to their political views.

The list also included hate preachers, Hamas terrorist leader Yunis Al-Astal, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard Stephen Donald Black and neo-Nazi Erich Gliebe.

Now Michael Atkins, writing on behalf of the U.K.’s treasury solicitor, has told Savage’s London-based attorney the ban had to stick because Savage had not gone back on his ‘extreme’ comments.

California: Oakland Elementary Schools Teaching Kids There Are More Than Two Gender Options…

Today’s lesson, “chicks with dicks.”

(SF Gate) — A one-hour elementary school lesson on gender diversity featuring all-girl geckos and transgender clownfish caused a stir in Oakland on Monday, with conservative legal defense organizations questioning the legitimacy of the topic and providing legal counsel to parents who opposed the instruction.

On Monday and today, Redwood Heights Elementary School students at every grade level were being introduced to the topic of gender diversity, with lesson plans tailored to each age group.

The school also teaches students about the variety of families at the school and takes on the issue of bullying.

“If we don’t have a safe, nurturing class environment, it’s going to be hard to learn,” she said. “Really, the message behind this curriculum is there are different ways to be boys. There are different ways to be girls.”

So, fourth- and fifth-grade students learned about the crazy world of gender within the animal kingdom with lessons about single-sex Hawaiian geckos, fish that switch genders and boy snakes that act “girly.”

“That’s a lot of variation in nature,” Gender Spectrum trainer, Joel Baum, told the students. “Evolution comes up with some pretty funny ways for animals to reproduce.”

And that same kind of diversity applies to people too, said Baum, the education director for the San Leandro nonprofit. For example, some boys can act like girls; some girls can have boy body parts; and some biological boys feel like a girl inside their hearts, he said.

“It turns out that there are not just two options,” he said.

GOP Rep. Paul Broun: I Saw TSA Agents Pat Down a “Little Old Lady, Then a Little Kid, Then a Guy in Arabian Dress Walked Right Through”…

Place your bets: Over/under on the inevitable CAIR press release is 12 hours.

(The Hill) — The Transportation Security Administration is too worried about “political correctness,” according to a Republican lawmaker.

Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, said TSA is too politically correct when it chooses which passengers to search at airport security checkpoints.

During a recent trip, Broun said he saw TSA pat down an elderly person and a child, but not a man he himself deemed suspicious.

“I walked through … right behind me there was a grandmother — little old lady, and she was was patted down,” Broun said on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.”

“Right behind her was a little kid who was patted down. And then right behind him was a guy in Arabian dress who just walked right through. Why are we patting down grandma and kids?”

NPR Ombudsman: On Second Thought, Maybe We Shouldn’t Have Accepted Money From George Soros…

Quite the epiphany.

(NPR) — NPR’s first show, All Things Considered, turned 40 this month. Over the decades, NPR has added shows, exponentially increased its audience and become one of the most trusted news sources in the country.

If you think of credibility as money in the bank, NPR’s account is healthy and robust – at least among its audience.

But the organization made a judgment last fall that taps into that credibility account. The decision was to take $1.8 million from the Open Society Foundations. It’s funded by left-leaning billionaire financier-philanthropist George Soros, who made his fortune in hedge funds and currency speculation.

…When top executives told NPR staff about the Impact of Government project, they said the money came from the Open Society Foundations but offered no other funding details.

“I remember the email announcing the Impact of Government project only mentioned the Open Society Institute,” said one staffer who spoke on the condition of anonymity for obvious reasons. “My cubicle mate immediately said, ‘Isn’t that Soros?’ We Googled to confirm…and were appalled that his name had not been included, as if the company didn’t think it was important or were trying to hide something.”

Since that time, a deep current of concern has run through the newsroom about taking money from someone with a well-known, documented political agenda supporting Democrats and Democratic causes. Soros has been increasingly partisan since he announced his determination to defeat then-President George W. Bush in 2004.

Video: Master Orator Barack Obama Puts British Politician to Sleep…

He’s like human Ambien.

(Telegraph) — His charisma and charm is usually enough to send any crowd into a frenzy but Barack Obama’s speech at Westminster Hall left one politician feeling quite drowsy.

Kenneth Clarke was captured on camera seemingly falling asleep during the President’s speech.

The Justice Secretary could perhaps be forgiven for his tiredness after the long week that he has had.

Heartache: Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah Says Obama’s Speech Was Knockout Blow to Peace Process…

You can’t win with these people, and yet Obama still tries.

(JPost) — Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Wednesday that recent speeches by US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu offered a knockout blow to the Arab peace initiative [of 2002].

He also urged the Arab League to withdraw its initiative for the Middle East peace process.

“What have Obama and Netanyahu left for the Palestinian people, Palestinian Authority and Palestinians factions?” Nasrallah asked in a live speech via video link to a rally celebrating Israel’s withdrawal from south Lebanon in 2000. “The Palestinians have only resistance to achieve liberation,” Nasrallah continued.

Obama Chooses $1,700 Wine During Dinner With British Royals…

Hero of the working class.

(US News & World Report) – Finally, after two straight presidents who didn’t appreciate the taste of a fine French burgundy, Buckingham Palace tonight had a chance to put on the Ritz for a first family who enjoy a long dinner and luscious wine.

Most notable from the wine cellars of the famous palace: A Echezeaux Grand Cru 1990, Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, that goes for $1,000 - $1,700 per bottle in the United States.

There were a bunch of other wines, like Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin champagne and a very nice $170 1963 port President and first lady Michelle Obama, who are noted for dinner dates at Washington’s finest restaurants, have probably had before.

But the Echezeaux Grand Cru 1990 is a different thing altogether, something even reviewer Robert Parker says is a rare treat for the super rich. He gave it 93 points in 1992 and, of course, it’s only supposed to get better in the bottle.

Gingrich Sends Letter to Congress Deriding “Dems And Elite Media Trying to Divide Us And Lie” About Ryan Plan…

Sorry Newt, nobody’s buying what you’re selling.

(Politico) — Newt Gingrich is resurfacing in the battle over Medicare, but this time on Rep. Paul Ryan’s side.

The former House speaker sent a letter to members of Congress Wednesday morning claiming that “Democrats and their allies in the elite media are determined to divide us and lie about of efforts to save both Medicare and America from fiscal collapse.”

“Paul Ryan and the House Republicans are trying to save Medicare in a period of enormous economic and fiscal difficulties,” Gingrich wrote to lawmakers after the GOP suffered a loss in a special election in upstate New York Tuesday night. “THE ROAD AHEAD: CHEERFULLY KEEP TELLING THE TRUTH.”

The letter is signed, “your friend, Newt.”

Of course, last week Gingrich was hardly House Republicans’ friends. He called Ryan’s plan “right-wing social engineering,” earning scorn from his former colleagues on Capitol Hill, eventually having to walk the plan back. Ryan this morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” said that “perhaps” Gingrich’s comments were not helpful in the race in upstate New York.

One less thing to worry about.

WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican nominee for president, on Tuesday expressed no interest in making another run in 2012.

“There’s no education in the second kick of a mule,” the Arizona Republican said, borrowing a line from Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. McCain was responding to a question posed by a member of a large group of north Alabama business and political leaders visiting the capital.

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Pigvirus): GOP Plan Will “Dump People Out of Nursing Homes”…

Congressman Nostrilitis trying to scare the hell out of grandma and grandpa, very classy.

“We’ve had no proposal from the Republicans except in their budget they wanted to take Medicare away from future seniors by making it a block grant, and they wanted to cut the Medicaid program which cuts a big hole in the safety net for the poor to get their health care needs which means people in nursing homes would be dumped out of those nursing homes”

Texas GOP Gov. Rick Perry Declares Bill Requiring Sonograms Before Abortions Emergency Legislation, Allows Him to Sign It Into Law Early…

Bravo, Governor Perry!

AUSTIN (May 24, 2011) — Gov. Rick Perry celebrated the passage of a law that requires doctors to conduct sonograms before abortions in formal signing ceremony Tuesday in Austin, saying the bill would save the lives of thousands of unborn Texans.

Perry declared the measure emergency legislation and had already officially signed the bill into law.

Effective Sept. 1, doctors must perform sonograms before abortions, must describe the presence of internal organs or limbs and must make the fetal heartbeat audible.

The bill also requires performance of a sonogram 24 hours before abortion except in medical emergencies

Women may opt out of seeing the image and hearing the heartbeat, but must sign a statement acknowledging the refusal before receiving the sonogram.

A woman may opt out of hearing the description of the image if her pregnancy is a result of rape or incest; if she’s a minor obtaining an abortion under judicial bypass, or if the fetus has a fatal condition or abnormality.

In the event the woman lives more than 100 miles from the nearest abortion facility, the waiting period is shortened from 24 to two hours.

During the ceremony Tuesday, Perry praised the bill’s authors, Central Texas Republican Rep. Sid Miller and Houston Republican Sen. Dan Patrick.

“Every life lost to abortion is a tragedy we all must work together to prevent, and I commend Rep. Miller and Sen. Patrick for their hard work on this significant legislation,” Perry said.

MSNBC’s Depraved Psychopath Ed Schultz: Laura Ingraham A “Right-Wing Slut”…

Amazing what the left can get away with saying with virtually no repercussions.

Is this what MSNBC had in mind when it came up with its new “lean forward” slogan?

And what do the Republicans thinking about? They’re not thinking about their next-door neighbor. They’re just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what they’re talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.

Romney Says Obama Stole His Idea to Bail Out Auto Companies…

Huh?

WASHINGTON — The recovery of the American auto industry, which repaid a significant part of its debt to the federal government on Tuesday, has sparked a political battle over who deserves credit and who deserves blame.

On the day that Chrysler wrote a check repaying $5.1 billion to theUnited States Treasury, President Obama and his Democratic allies claimed credit for saving a crucial industry in Michigan, a state that will be a critical battleground in the 2012 presidential election.

“Supporting the American auto industry required making some tough decisions,” Mr. Obama said in a statement, “but I was not willing to walk away from the workers at Chrysler and the communities that rely on this iconic American company.”

Democrats also sought to highlight past statements from Mr. Obama’s likely Republican rivals, who had criticized the president for a federal bailout that they said was unnecessary and wasteful.

The Democratic National Committee on Tuesday released a YouTube video highlighting a 2008 opinion article by Mitt Romney in The New York Times titled “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” In the video, Mr. Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, is shown asserting, “If you write a check, they are going to go out of business.”

In 2009, Mr. Romney said Mr. Obama’s plans for rescuing the automobile industry were “tragic” and “a very sad circumstance for this country.”

A Romney spokesman said on Tuesday that the president’s plan was modeled after one Mr. Romney advocated in 2008.

“Mitt Romney had the idea first,” said Eric Fehrnstrom, a Romney spokesman, citing the Times opinion article. “You have to acknowledge that. He was advocating for a course of action that eventually the Obama administration adopted.”
