RINO Romney Says He Believes In Man-Made Global Warming…
Game over.
(Reuters) – Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.
“I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
“It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.”
The former Massachusetts governor fielded questions on topics ranging from the debt ceiling to abortion on his first full day of campaigning for 2012 Republican primary nomination.
Romney leads opinion polls in New Hampshire by a wide margin, and is among the top contenders nationally to win the Republican primary.

Sorry, I have to say that I agree that man’s activities such as industrialization, deforestation and urbanization all have an effect on our world’s atmoshpere. Only small minded people lacking in scientific based background would say that it does not. Now whether I agree that it is catastrophic to mankind or that there is truly anything that man can do about it is another matter. Just look back at the evolution of our planet, in the days when the earth was young and volcanic activity at its height the gases within the atmosphere were of entirely different concentrations and composition, as was the weather, flora and fauna. The true cause of our problems are that there are just too many of us and as always nature will find a way to correct that issue through natural attrition. I don’t believe in Cap and Trade or over zealous environmental bureaucracy but I’ll take Mitt over Obama any day of the week!

There isn’t much fundamentally wrong with what he said. Humans no doubt have contributed, but the big questions are to what degree and what to do about it. There is nothing wrong with the goal of reducing emissions. I’m just trying to point out that he didn’t say he wanted a carbon tax or a cap and trade system or to sign on to any global treaties limiting emmissions. With that said, I don’t trust Romney enough to believe he wouldn’t push for those types of measures should he get elected.

can someone explain to me how global warming is a political issue? it seems to me that whether you believe in it or not, it’s science. i don’t know anything about the science one way or the other, so i keep my mouth shut.
but i see no reason on earth why your opinion on what’s happening with the global climate/environment should have anything to do with your political affiliation. which is to say that if people here think global warming is nuts thats fine, but how is believing it somehow “liberal”? seems like politics shouldn’t be preventing people from thinking one way or the other on scientific evidence.

Marc-As you see my opinion seemed to upset quite a few, but it is my opinion and I do have a substantial scientific background including chemistry, biology and physics. In my lifetime I have seen the results of the population explosion and what urbanization of my own State has been like. It truly blows my mind that people cannot comprehend that overpopulation and man’s activities on a global scale would not have an effect on our world. Ask a farmer what happens when they fail to rotate a crop that consumes a particular nutrient or what happens when they have a genetic defect in their herd, it all follows the fundamental laws of nature as well as the fundamental concepts of evolution. These concepts have played themselves out over and over again in the past with things like air quality, water quality, wildlife habitat etc., etc. My point was simply that in any chemical equation, either macro or micro, which is what our atmosphere is, that the system will seek a state of equilibrium. That equilibrium of the system is based upon the sub related processes that occur within it as well as the concentrations of the reactants and products that are within that equation. Changing those concentrations and processes within that system will cause a shift in the process that very well could effect NATURAL weather patterns…so it logically would follow the laws of nature, which I adamantly believe in. The politicians on both sides of the aisle seek platforms that the general populous will believe in to make their arguments in the effort to maintain their own power and control. That is what the “global warming” or “climate change” argument is about…power and control. There is nothing that man or government will do to slow or reshape what nature is imposing on us, it is nothing more than a tool for those that seek the power to control us. I remain amazed that no one can relate the activities of mankind to the fruit fly experiment most of us did in 7th grade science…if you were on the moon and looked at earth form above it is nothing more than a sphere in a jar, and we are the fruit flies…That does not mean that I agree with the political spin that Al Gore and the EPA have put on what is transpiring…and after all, slugs might taste good, Oysters and snails do!
