Top Iranian Clerics Admit Regime’s Attempts At Destroying Christianity Have Failed…

Comments & pings are closed.TEHRAN — Iran’s religious leaders continue to denounce Christianity in their speeches and meetings. In an April 2011 speech, Islamist hardliner Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi, who is known as a mastermind of the government’s strategy against Christians, called for greater government action against Christians in Iran. Yazdi admitted that government actions aimed at destroying Christianity have thus far failed.
“In connection with the growth of Christianity in some of the provinces, the actions taken by the government and the judicial authorities and the massive funding of such programs have not achieved the desired results,” Yazdi said during a meeting with the heads of the Islamic Propagation Center of Qum. Yazdi, who is famous for his extremist Shiite beliefs, blamed an undisciplined attitude and lack of proper supervision for the government’s failure to contain Christianity. “Today there are many websites that are fighting against Islamic ideology, and one must consider that responding to these sites is a very valuable thing,” Yazdi said.
In a speech last year, one year after the tumultuous presidential election in Iran, Yazdi called the widespread protests in response to the election a “menace.” According to Mohabat News, Yazdi demanded that “this country-wide menace must be controlled like a virus.” He then accused the republic’s enemies — those protesting the elections — of anarchy and of allowing “false religions” like house-church Christianity to spread.
Another religious leader, Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, has also warned against the ever-increasing activities of Christians, according to Mohabat News. Sobhani lamented the fact that 600 people have converted to Christianity in one city.

People would rather follow a God of Peace and Love instead of one of hate and beheadings.
Gee, imagine if some westerners called islam a virus that had to be wiped out? What would the lamestream media say? Imagine the coverage such a statement would get on the lamestream networks? Yet, I doubt this mullah’s virulent genocidal statements will get any play in the media except perhaps on Fox.
I’ve read that, in Iran, Yazdi is known as … “the Crocodile” … and widely considered to be crazy.
The Unbathed One (Ahmadinejad, known for a lack of personal hygiene) is Yazdi’s faithful disciple.

I spent 10 years in Iran before the Islamic Revolution. My parents were missionaries. A number of churches and believers were established by the time we left.
After we left the ministry shifted to short wave radio and correspondence course. The correspondence is handled in such a way as to minimize risk to the Iranians.
In the 3 decades since the revolution the number of individuals contacting the ministry has grown, and rapidly in the last 10 or so years.

Good news!
@JCM – Fantastic! God bless you and your parents.
God bless America, Israel and our troops!
If he admits to 600,then what ya say there are a lot more. Good news from Iran.
Jesus: fed the poor, healed the sick, died on the cross for mans sins.
Mohammad: Murderer, slaver, rapest, theif, liar, pedophile.
Hmmmmmm.
Would rather die a martyr’s death then to denounce the Living Christ. And while we are at it, Let the Crusades begin anew, God will understand.
Up until 689 A.D Iran was a mix of Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, and followers of traditional belief systems. That all changed once Islam reared it’s ugly head.
Yeah wait till the muzzies try anything in this country to destroy our faith in the ONE GOD! I think before we go to bed tonight we all need to pray for angels to encircle the earth and kick the devils butt out of here!!!!!!
If you nuke Iran are you going to round up these pals first? There are some pretty wild paganish sects of christianity there -could you recognize them ?
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good”
–Romans 12:21

Christianity:
Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.
End
do not add
do not subtract.
your soul is at stake.
yes many false doctrines out there.
think carefully.
Muslims who have given up Mohammed for the Light of Jesus, have been chosen by God – they can be killed by the evil religion of Islam, but will never die.
Pray for Christians in Iran, and for Iran itself.
I can only say, please pray for the safety of the Christians in Islamic countries.
Oh that vial cult of islam and muhammad! Kill it out, burn it out, squeeze it out, push it out, stomp it out, drown it out, bury it, blow it up, sink it, scratch it out from every book!!!!
Christianity is so beautiful……..
islam plays second fiddle to it and always has as muhammad tried to copy as much as he could remember. Only he was not a Christ and added in his own story so he could become more wealthy, more rapes, more pedophilia, more robbing, more murder. Do not worry for those you cannot convince when the facts are right before their eyes, they are weak and afraid to loose what they have been taught all their livees. The weakness comes in when they are given the facts and refuse to make a logical connection. islam is not logical in any way. That is how the illogical muhammad created it.
One day, before 2050, islam will be gone for good and we can celebrate with our new strong Arab and Persian brothers in Christ. Believe………….2050!
@RichardD
Even during our time in Iran, it was rather tolerant. The Jewish, and Armenian communities were quite open, as was the Christian.
The biggest Persian celebration, Noo Rooz, the spring new year festival is deeply rooted in Zoroastrianism. The mad mullahs have been trying to stamp that out with little success.
This is the wedge, if we had anyone smart enough in DC to figure it out and exploit it. The internal conflict between the Persian Culture and the Islamic.
The Persian pre-dates Islam by only a couple of millennia and the Persian are quite aware of that. But at the same time they in large don’t want to completely ditch Islam.
The Iranians what a blending of Persian and Islamic, and the mad mullahs and hardliners in the regime aren’t having any of it.
If we support the Persian side in the internal conflict, much like RWR did with Solidarity in Poland there is a very good chance of a moderate Persian government.
I am a long long way from being a practicing Christian, but even I know any plan they had for destroying Christianity there was doomed to failure. I would not be surprised if it has even grown in a underground way. Keep up the good work, Koranimals.
@ JMC
Very true.

The church has always grown in persecution. And there are some pretty valid stories about Jesus coming to people in their sleep or in other ways to people in Iran. People, from the Romans to Hitler to Mao to Pol Poi to Kim Jong IL, have tried from centuries to destroy Christianity. Instead it has grown in the most violent places.
Someone should tell the clerics this is just a preview of coming attractions. Wait till they get to the end of the Book!
I remember listening to an interview once with an ex KGB officer after the fall of the Soviet Union. They asked him about the persecution of Christians and how it was that they had not been able to destroy it. His answer was, “Christianity is like a nail, the harder you hit it the further you drive it in”. I think that the mulla’s are finding that out.
Get used to it rugsniffers
“… and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Duh.
I thought apotasy was a death sentence in Islam. If there are truly converts from Islam to Christianity, then wouldn’t they be killed?
Yes, they could well be killed. Although I’ve noticed (at least in their media broadcasts) that the Mulla-cracy is a lot more interested in killing Moslems (and maybe Jews) than just about anyone else. Christians and Zoroastrians don’t show up as often in the “criminal” proceedings. Could just be statistics, because there are far fewer non-Muslims in Iran.
PatriotWarMonger,
Yes, love the truth of that scripture. You can’t stop the living God from calling people to Himself! Who can stop God? Its a form of insanity. I thank God for those strong, devoted Christians in Iran right now, andI pray for strength in their souls to fight the good fight of faith. They are truly heros, laying their lives down for the Gospel sake. Islam is a lie, that will never change. Its getting out the truth to them that needs to be prayed for. Lets keep our brothers and sisters in the faith, in prayer.

@LittleRedOne
I believe that is the case. Much lower percentage of the population.
But, I do think this claim of 600 new converts is nothing more than the Iranian Government’s scare tactics. A way to make the Mulims hate Christians more, and a way to keep the Christians running for cover.
