Flashback: Obama Cites War Powers Resolution In Letter To Congress Announcing Libya Strikes…
(CNS) — In a March 21 letter to Congress explaining why he ordered military strikes against Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, President Barack Obama noted that he was writing the letter so as to be compliant with the War Powers Act.
Now, Obama claims that the Act does not apply to U.S. military action in Libya.
According to press reportsWednesday, the White House is set to inform Congress that it no longer considers itself bound by the War Powers Act despite the continued participation of American armed forces in the now NATO-led strikes against Gadhafi.
In his March 21 letter to Congress, Obama said he was ordering the military to begin carrying out airstrikes and missile attacks against Gadhafi, citing his authority as commander in chief and saying that the letter satisfied the requirement that he report to Congress in the War Powers Act.

When you lie as much as Obama does, it must be hard to keep track.
He doesn’t write any of his work, how can he be expected to remember that he made a statement that he read once or twice…?
I have read the War Powers Act, a hundred times since all this started. And although I am not an attorney, I can read. And a letter does not satisfy the requirement.
This man is so used to getting his way and ignoring all dissent, that he doesn’t even bother to make a good faith argument.
When will a Republican with even a scintilla of balls stand up and demand an impeachment hearing for this blatant thumbing of his nose at the rule of law?!?! Stand together as a party and start demanding answers with the threat of recourse behind you!

How many millions did he get for book sales for material he did not write.
He was never in compliance with the WPA and could care less.
I’m convinced that bs and Boehner colluded on the golf course Sunday and came up with this as a way for bs to evade the Constitution while letting Boehner look like he has a spine. They’re 2 sides of the same coin – throw all these worthless bastards out and start over.

The War Powers Resolution is probably unConstitutional, but that said, if you say you’re going to honor it then honor it. But Barry is a congenital pathological liar and hypocrite so he’s exempt.

As for the rest of the Republicans, its hard to defend silence. Obama should be brought to heel by the Congress, and if they won’t do it, they are complicit, no rhetoric can change that… throw them out and let’s get this show on the road.

Yes, this is true. However, the opportunity to put them all on the record for voting against such a resolution would be political gold. It will largely nullify any griping they would have regarding future foreign policy muscle flexing and will be great fodder for political adds when running against them.
After all, this could be seen as a bi-partisan (the rallying cry of the leftist media) effort with goofs like Kucinich behind it along with a few others.
