Hardcore Communist Leader Of US Flotilla Ship “Audacity of Hope” Vows To Break Israeli Blockade Of Gaza…
I don’t think we’d be asking too much from Israel to sink this ship for us.
(JPost) — Passengers on a US-flagged boat, The Audacity of Hope, spoke at a press conference Monday to discuss their plans and reasons for joining the “International Freedom Flotilla II — Stay Human,” a flotilla intended to break the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza.
It is estimated that people from more than 20 countries will participate in the eight to ten boat flotilla, which will sail the last week of June, in part from Greece. One quarter of the participants on the US boat, which will have 36 passengers, are American Jews.
According to a letter the Audacity of Hope group sent to US President Barack Obama, in addition to 36 passengers, 4 crew members, and 10 members of the press, the US-flagged boat “will carry thousands of letters of support and friendship from people throughout the US to the women, children and men of Gaza. There will be no weapons of any sort on board.”
“We will carry no goods of any kind for delivery in Gaza,” the group’s letter read. “Our mission is from American civil society to the civil society of Gaza. We do not serve the agenda of any political leadership, government or group. We are engaged solely in non-violent action in support of the Palestinian people and their human rights.”
Leslie Cagan, the US boat coordinator leading Monday’s press conference, said the Israeli government acted with extreme violence against Freedom Flotilla I in 2010, killing nine passengers and injuring more than 50, and has threatened the use of attack dogs and snipers against this Freedom Flotilla II.

This is what I’ll never understand. These people are agitating in support of a nation/culture that proscribes the death penalty for “lesbians/gays” and “other sexual minorities” (what are those, pray tell?), does not allow women to drive and gives them few rights, and does not allow meaningful political disent (like what they’re doing).
Yet the U.S. is the evil empire.

Israel immediately released the Turkish flotilla breakers, including the ones that gutted the Israeli solder and threw him overboard. You cannot expect this to stop until they are arrested and jailed for a long, long time.

I can’t imagine having the money or time and then wasting them both like this. Israel needs to stand tough, but Gaza should send them all passports and let them live there under a Castro-like regime. They all deserve that. Once there, they can start protesting attacks on Lesbians and Gays and find out how warm and cuddly the Palestinians are.

Israel, why not commence a huge celebratory raffle immediately to select 48 lucky winners out of the entire population. Then make a good show by taking a dozen fairly good torpedoes out of storage and allow the raffle winners to paint bright, colorful pictures of doughnuts, happy faces, and balloons all over them. Burn sparklers, toss confetti, play loud music and have mobs of sexy people dancing and singing on the beach as the sun sets. Invite the cameras and explain clearly and with twinkle-eyed assurance that just because you are deadly serious when you say “NEVER AGAIN!” that doesn’t mean you intend to sulk or have a bad day fretting about the kinetic implications that naturally stem from your golden promise.
I believe you will save a number of lives if you simply let the whole fucking world know that Israel is once again more than serious about protecting itself. Show them you’re even willing to embrace a ‘High Plains Drifter’ style approach whenever the pussy warfare tactics used by your/our enemies clearly warrant such.
