Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Appeal From ACORN Over Government Funding Ban…

Comments & pings are closed.WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal from ACORN, the activist group driven to ruin by scandal and financial woes, over being banned from getting federal funds.
The high court on Monday refused to review a federal court’s decision to uphold Congress’s ban on federal funds for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
Congress cut off ACORN’s federal funding last year in response to allegations the group engaged in voter registration fraud and embezzlement and violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.
ACORN sued, but the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City upheld the action. The high court refused to hear its appeal.

Sweet !
That’s a shame, they were keeping at least 150 federal prosecutors working overtime…
HAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA
gasp……..
HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!
I would argue that this is just an update to the Eric Holder story, Re: Lawyers being the best weapon against terrorism…
Just another attempt by the left to legislate from the bench.
Does it take a majority of the justices to decide on what cases they’ll hear and not hear ?
I’m just curious as to whether The Wise Potato Chips Latina™ was for or against this.
The Wise Potato Chips Latina™…..that is just too funny.
The Supreme Court rules
Acorns money is banned now
Softly the libs weep
Can ACORN be made to pay back the money?
Will they be clever enough to shift their name from Acorn to Ocorn, for extra points with what ‘is name?
I have a suggestion on how ACORN can recreate itself and polish up it’s image. Hire Henry Winkler to take over the agency, have him dress up as The Fonz and call it:
AYYYYYYY-CORN
Everybody loves The Fonz.
Sanity prevails! Thank you Supreme Court.
God bless America, Israel and our troops!
Yes sir, too infrequently these days, the law and sanity are on the same side
It’s about time they did something right.
Well now, how about extending that ban to outfits like LaRaza?
I am for no more federal funding of ANY private organization. Unless the organization is actually fulfilling a need the federal government ought to be doing (and that is, if at all possible, literally a handful of outfits) there is not a single private organization that should get taxpayer dollars.
The Supreme Court is also confirming the rights of states to enforce federal law. Did you ever think the Supreme Court would have to rule on the right of a state to enforce the law? That is the most telling evidence yet that the current federal government is beneath contempt.
@ Jimco – Agreed! The Feds are supposed to facilitate for the states not overrule/sue what they do. It is, AND SHOULD BE, very limited what the Feds are supposed to do – maybe they could do well what they’re supposed to be doing if their reach was limited.
God bless America, Israel and our troops!
Thank you, SCOTUS…..for etching in stone that ACORNs are NUTS!
It’s nice to see the Olympians actually doing something useful, instead of just sitting on their cloud watching while the world falls apart.
I liked the speech Rick Perry delivered down in Louisiana regarding the mess Obama has gotten us into and speaking loudly for states rights to run their own business.. Perry is looking good to me, I hope he jumps in, I could vote for him.
Shhhhh.

You sumbitch. don’t give them any ideas!
I’m amazed that they can even show their faces in public after what they did. Liberals have NO morals. NONE!
