Obama’s Food Police Take Down Tony the Tiger…
(Human Events) — Tony the Tiger, some NASCAR drivers and cookie-selling Girl Scouts will be out of a job unless grocery manufacturers agree to reinvent a vast array of their products to satisfy the Obama administration’s food police.
Either retool the recipes to contain certain levels of sugar, sodium and fats, or no more advertising and marketing to tots and teenagers, say several federal regulatory agencies.
The same goes for restaurants.
It’s not just the usual suspected foods that are being targeted, such a thin mint cookies sold by scouts or M&Ms and Snickers, which sponsor cars in the Sprint Cup, but pretty much everything on a restaurant menu.
Although the intent of the guidelines is to combat childhood obesity, foods that are low in calories, fat, and some considered healthy foods, are also targets, including hot breakfast cereals such as oatmeal, pretzels, popcorn, nuts, yogurt, wheat bread, bagels, diet drinks, fruit juice, tea, bottled water, milk and sherbet.
Food industries are in an uproar over the proposal written by the Federal Trade Commission, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“The most disturbing aspect of this interagency working group is, after it imposes multibillions of dollars in restrictions on the food industry, there is no evidence of any impact on the scourge of childhood obesity,” said Dan Jaffe, executive vice president of the Association of National Advertisers.

Could their experimental social policies which they call progressive actually be regressive? Could all the pills they are now forcing down the throats of little boys, because of boyish behavior, result in a drugged out child with little energy? And a lot of empty time to fill with consuming food.
It’s time we all sued the dietitians and the USDA. They have been telling us how to eat for 50 yrs and we still got fat. Obviously it’s all their fault.
Seriously, this was tried about 30 yrs ago. First amendment rights to free speech protected food advertisers. Although given the nanny state now, it could go the other way.

If food stamps didn’t pay for Cheetos and moon pies, maybe we wouldn’t have a childhood obesity problem. Perhaps food stamps should only be valid for whole wheat bread, skinless chicken, skim milk, and carrots. Perhaps those who receive food stamps should be required to have a weekly weigh-in at the local free clinic. So tired of big brother trying to tell us how to live!

It is here right now in this country. This government is no longer for or by the people. It is against the people. Now they are openly moving to control the food supply which will lead to mass starvation and slavery.

First we try getting the Republicans off their dead asses in the House. Forget about the Senate Republicans those assholes just unanimously confirmed a committed communist, Leon Panetta, as the Secretary of Defense whose sole mission will be to gut and transform the military into an instrument of domestic repression. The Senate Republicans are a lost cause.
Second we write or email the food industries insisting they must resist this totalitarian move by Obuttma and his fellow commiecrats by using the courts, their lobbyists, or if need be by halting shipments of food to the supermarkets in order get people to wake up. We must fight and win this particular battle so decisively that Obuttma and his commiecrats will not dare to attempt this power play over the food supply again.
In the end when they get desperate as 2012 approaches, they will try to goad us into armed insurrection. This is their plan. Our few remaining liberties are at stake. We cannot lose this battle.

It’s most worrisome that they’re even considering cloned or altered meat products. They are now wanting to remove cereals too. At some point the food nazi’s will decide that broccoli is bad for you too. I don’t eat those products but I will maintain that those that do have a right to choose (ironic a woman has the right to choose to abort a fetus but not have the freedom to choose the kind of cereal she’ll have for breakfast)!
You wait and see, Flotus will return from Africa with the promise we’ll donate millions/billions $$ of food products to them. When the producers that grow the food start to get hungry, there will be a day of reconning. Redistribution of food could be the next war.
