CBO: Obama’s Failed Stimulus Bill Almost Doubled U.S. Debt…

A new report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) finds that President Obama’s economic stimulus program helped nearly double U.S. debt.
The 2011 Long-Term Budget Outlook, released Wednesday morning, reports that the “the combination of automatic budgetary responses” and Obama’s stimulus “had a profound impact on the federal budget.” According to CBO projections, before Obama’s stimulus became law, federal debt equaled 36 percent of GDP and was projected to decline slightly over the next few years. Instead, thanks in large part to the stimulus, debt reached 62 percent of GDP by 2010.

We have been living under classic liberalism since the New Deal “fixed” the last depression.
What have we got to show for it? An American welfare state that’s now the joke of the modern world, and dozens of countries passing us in all manner of economic metrics. Real wages have been stagnant for 40 years. Americans would rather sit on their asses rather than work hard. Our country is run by the instant gratification “everyone is special” entitlement crowd that wants a trophy for coming in last.
Time to hit the reset button on our society, and if a couple dozen million eggs get broken remaking the American omelet, then so be it…
