ThinkProgress Tools Demand GOP Rep. Todd Akin Apologize For Saying “At The Heart Of Liberalism Is A Hatred For God”. . . Responds By Telling Them To Go Pound Sand

(ThinkProgress) — A spokesperson for Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), who last week accused liberals of having a “hatred for God,” refused to apologize for those remarks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Akin’s communications director, Steve Taylor, told the Post-Dispatch that Akin was commenting on a difference between the two ideas: while conservatives believe rights come from God, liberals think they come from the government. Taylor said Akin was not referring to any individual’s beliefs, only the “defining principles of two political ideologies.”
And they have undeniable proof he should be groveling, like this quote from a “Unitarian Universalist” reverend. Which is one of those leftist churches that flies the gay pride flags and never refers to God with a “gender bias.”
Multiple religious leaders have fired back at Akin’s original comments. Rabbi Jim Bennett of Congregation Shaare Emeth in St. Louis:
Rev. Krista Taves, of Emerson Unitarian Universalist Chapter in St. Louis, wrote to Akin:
For you to say that liberals hate God means you know very little about liberals, and sadly enough, you also seem to know very little about God and his son Jesus, who said that ‘as you do to the least of these, you do unto me.’

Liberal theology best when quoted out of content and aimed at a true statement from a conservitive.
Unitarians do not believe in anything. They believe in “everything”. They have no specific faith at all. I have had to deal with them. They are an one-size fit all sect. I don’t want to call them a church because they are not a church in my mind.
And unfortunately there are some Jews who are Jewish by name only. Even some rabbis. There is one Jewish faction called the “Reformed Jews”. They are nothing more than a Jewish “social gospel” group. They observe the Jewish holidays but their temple services are nothing more than social issue lectures.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Rep. Akin, and he is one of the good guys. He’s honest and truly listens to the needs of his constituents. I hope my district can keep him around for a while. Don’t back down and acquiesce to the God-less loons, Rep. Akin!

It is my hope that when Missouri’s redistricting is finished, I will be in Mr. Akin’s district. I have know Todd for over 15 years during which we were members of the same church in St. Louis county.
Todd is soft spoken, but as is typical of most conservative Missourians, blunt and to the point. What you see is what you get, his word is his bond, he loves and services his God regardless of the cost.
The Show me State is well served by Representative Akin.
Many churches in liberal communities are enemies of common sense.
