And Al throws a hissy fit when challenged by a local San Diego reporter on this ridiculous claim.

Wow! I’m a state gov’t employee with a 401K and not a “pension”. This is good to know! I should sue the democrat-controlled gov’t that has violated my rights! Speak truth to power! The Man is holding me down! FIGHT THE POWER!

“An “Unthinkable” Civil Rights Violations”
———
Dear Al,
Those things negotiated for in a union contract are NOT unalienable rights. They are only contractual obligations as long as the city or state government doesn’t file for bankruptcy.
CIVIL RIGHTS ARE THOSE FREEDOMS THAT EVERY AMERICAN HAS IN THE SAME AMOUNT, AND TO THE SAME DEGREE. Civil rights don’t require a labor union to enforce them.
Social Security is the only thing that even resembles a ‘civil right’, but the history of the Supreme Courts tells us that SOCIAL SECURITY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHT.
.
The Supreme Court has established that no one has any legal right to Social Security benefits. The Court decided, in Flemming v. Nestor (1960), that “entitlement to Social Security benefits is not a contractual right”. In that case, Ephram Nestor, a Bulgarian immigrant to the United States who made contributions for covered wages for the statutorily required “quarters of coverage” was nonetheless denied benefits after being deported in 1956 for being a member of the Communist party.
Proud Infidel
Why does anyone in their right mind care what this racist exploiter of people’s misery thinks? He’s a lying huckster with absolutely zero credibility.

Alvin you old race husslin shit-for-brains asshole, of course you are for public funded pensions , because you don’t pay taxes your damn self!
jwyatt03
My goodness. Did you see those annual pension benefits for age 55 retirees? No wonder California is broke.

Mr. Galt
Call Reverend Al! My rights have been violated by my 401(K)! Oh wait. I’m a white guy.
Never mind.

If there is no “contractual obligation” between government and the general public in the case of social security, then how could there be a “contractual obligation” between government and SPECIAL INTEREST in the case of union pensions?
Why would a special interest group get better treatment than the general population?
How can government enter into a contract that grants a greater set of rights to a select group of people?

Al Rent-a-mob Sharpton should die already.

So Al is opposed to class warfare between Union and non-Union workers, while a “founding father” (and chief recipient of the rewards of) race and class based warfare?
Sounds like the same old Al, just proving again “…you can bronze a turd, but you can’t polish one.”
Grass Mud Horse
So wait- a moronic gadfly from New York is in California to advocate on behalf of union workers in San Diego?
What the hell? How is this any of Al Sharton’s business? This is getting nuts. Next thing you know, we’re going to have leaders from foreign countries opining on the legality of legislation in various states.
Oh, wait….

An expert politician – doesn’t answer the question, bloviates when cornered, brings up irrelevancies to hide his own. Reminds me of Eddie Murphy in “The Distinguished Gentleman” – rent it and then laugh at Al.

You know what other civils rights violation needs to be investigated? McDonalds frequently runs out of McNuggets but only in inner city locations. That’s right. Check it out. Coincidence? I think not.

With so many people out of work, do unionized government workers really think that there is no one who can replace them?
Isn’t is strange that anyone would consider federal union workers to be a distinct class (of it’s own)?
The foundation of Liberalism is the belief that there should be a different set of rules (see: Moral Relativism) for every different kind of person. The problem is that there is only one kind of person in existence……..anywhere.
No one is special! All men were created equal, and not money, not physical height, and not the color of a person’s skin, is a measure of freedom. The same rules must apply to everyone the same way!

Union workers don’t have any “civil rights” that every other American doesn’t also have.

Sharptons a troublemaker where ever he gose he just runs around making a all time pest of himself
Of course he’d throw a hissy fit. It’s impossible for union thugs and leftist advocates like Sharpton to raid a 401k. A pension fund is like a glowing cookie jar in the dark to these crooks.

The bigotry of low expectations. Rev. Al thinks these folks would be carried better and further by the govt. teat. Why do you consider these people so inept and incompetent to take care of themselves, Rev?
