Flashback: Obama’s Stimulus Bill Included Tax Breaks To Promote Private Jet Sales…
Fast forward to today and Obama made six different references to evil rich people who fly on private jets.

During President Obama’s press conference today, he scolded Republicans for demanding tax cuts for corporate jets.
From the Associated Press in 2009:
Just a few months after lawmakers scolded auto executives for flying to Washington in private jets, Congress approved a tax break in the stimulus package to help businesses buy their own planes.
The incentive — first used to help plane makers recover from the 2001 terror attacks — sharply reduces the up front tax bill for companies who buy assets like business planes.

The president spoke about the economy today. It was another unconvincing press conference from a man who has proven time and again since he was inaugurated the Peter Principle has withstood the test of time.
Rather then pursue a different course after adding two trillion dollars in debt with failed economic policies President Obama continued to go to the Democratic playbook and turn to the chapter on class warfare. This is what you offer when you have nothing else.
The latest is his attack on companies which get a break (actually depreciation on equipment) on corporate jets. I guess this is what the president believes will work as he campaigns across the country.
The president conveniently omitted mentioning the special exemption he complains about now was written into HIS stimulus plan. You have to wonder if the exemption was good then, why is it being criticized now?
I can only guess it was a ‘carrot’ added for Warren Buffet’s support. As owner of Netjet, one of the largest corporate jet businesses, Buffet benefited from its inclusion, and we’d find his fingerprints on its addition.
For the president to dump on corporate jets I’m sure he called old Warren to get his OK first. Doubt he’d risk cutting off a source of campaign funding by upsetting Buffet.
So, don’t expect anything new, Obama will keep saying if only the wealthiest Americans would pay more, the 9% unemployment rate (nearly 20% in urban areas) will go down, the economy will strengthen, the housing market will improve, and we will finally have world peace.
President Obama was successful using “bash the rich” in the last election, lets hope it does not work in the next.
For, if it does we can go back to the old idiom, “Fool voters once, shame on you, fool voters twice, shame on them”.
He’s just losing donations, that’s all. Let him talk talk talk.
