Ron Paul Says He Won’t Seek Reelection In 2012…

His blame-America foreign policies won’t be missed.*

(Ballot Box) — Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said Tuesday that he won’t seek reelection in 2012.

Paul posted to his official Twitter account a message had he had “decided not to seek re-election to Congress,” along with a link to a website, The Facts, on which he explained his decision.

“I felt it was better that I concentrate on one election,” Paul told the Texas news outlet. “It’s about that time when I should change tactics.”

Paul hails from Texas’s 14th congressional district, a seat seen as heavily leaning toward Republicans. But his redrawn district, as proposed by Texas’s GOP-controlled legislature, made the new version of the district less favorable to Paul.

* Save your breath Paulians, we’ve heard it all before.

Yeah, that’s because he’s gonna pull a Ross/Ron Perot/Paul and screw everything up.

    Good news!

We’re going to need Ron Paul as the new head of the Federal Reserve after 2012.

(Yes, i know he hates the Federal Reserve. That’s the point.)

Giving it his last shot this time…I agree with much of what Paul has done in the years in the House, no doubt about that, but don’t on other matters, like Israel and national security…do wished he could get in the Fed/Treasury…if anyone could he would be the one.

Hopefully, after he fails to get the nomination, the Paulinistas will just fade away.

He’s not running for re-election to Congress, but he IS still going to run for President in 2012. Unfortunately, we are not rid of him or his crazy followers just yet…

Seriously ZIP, can you really defend America’s foreign policy anymore? Troops in 150 of the worlds 195 Countries. Billions of dollars manipulating other Governments; many of which supress their people. It’s time we take a good, honest look at our behavior and how it affects others, and that is what Ron Paul is suggesting.

True but there is light at the end of the long, dark tunnel.

Ron Paul doesn’t belong anywhere but the old folks home, he’s a 9/11 truther alex jones following moron. I wouldn’t put him in charge of a fucking subway. He’s just a obgyn who occasionally makes irritating speeches and votes yes or no on stuff.

-Would you hire a 9/11 truther alex jones following MD to do your taxes? NO!
-Would you hire a 9/11 truther alex jones following MD to plan your retirement? NO!
-Would you hire a 9/11 truther alex jones following MD as your stockbroker? NO!
-Would you hire a 9/11 truther alex jones following MD to help run the biggest and best country in the world? GOD NO!

Ben Bernake is an idiot, but Ron paul is a colossal flaming fucktard of the highest order who would screw up the economy just as fast as obama.

Ron paul wouldn’t know how to use the capital asset pricing model if someone took two whole years to explain it to him. He probably doesn’t know what a standard deviation is. Rube.

    http://2012election.com/2009/12/nader-in-2012/

There is a pretty good chance that Ralph Nader will run for President in 2012. The thing to remember about third party candidates who run for President is that they rarely harbor any illusions about the possibility of actually winning the Presidency. What they are trying to do is bring certain issues to the forefront.

Ralph Nader knows, by now, that he can’t win an election. And he knows that his runs are getting him less and less attention. He’s particularly disliked among the moderate left because, were it not for him, Al Gore almost certainly would’ve won the Florida election in 2000, thus putting the presidency in the hands of the democrats for another 4 years…….

No, Ron Paul would be like a team leader. We could still put competent people in place to do the actual nuts and bolts stuff.

I find it really shameful that, for some reason during my college years, I supported this goon. Now, it was mostly his economic policies and small government ideas with a total refusal on my part to notice his idiotic foreign policy initiatives. But still, I supported this? Yuck. Good bye, Ron.

I like how you call yourselves Tea Partiers when Ron Paul was the grandfather of the movement. LOL! For people who complain about the Department of Education, I’d think a man who wanted to get rid of it would have some support around here.

@ER: How exactly is he an anti-Semite? Because he doesn’t think we should spend eternity babysitting Israel? Israel is capable of defending themselves, and cutting off American aid to THEIR enemies would only help them further. I suppose American Jews and Israelis who feel the same way are “self-hating”, right?

Also, point out a single time where he’s been wrong about the economy, and tell me with a straight face that the Federal Reserve isn’t unconstitutional.

” . . . .and he has the gonads to say what he does without cowering to corporations and the Queen of freaking England.”

Last week, I was about to comment on someone’s post concerning the debt limit debate, but just as I was about to hit the “submit” button, it occurred to me that I have a family that depends upon me for support, and I knew that it would be selfish of me to risk the wrath of The Queen just for the sake of political participation.

So, I erased my comment, deleted all of my cookies, ran a magnet over my hard drive, changed our names and moved me and the family to . . . well, I’m not going to say where, but now I ride an elephant to work every morning. I think we’re safe, but only time will tell.

    God Save The Queen!

If by “Ron Paul” you mean “Wayne Allyn Root” then yes, you would be correct. Besides, Ron Paul wouldn’t have gotten anywhere if Root hadn’t given him the opportunity to run for vice-president on the Libertarian ticket back in ’08.

    Zip,

Mr. Paul does not blame America, he merely states the Libertarian view that our foreign policy is wrong. We believe we should not get involved in other countries squabbles, as no good can ever come from that. This include foreign aid … We have no friends no matter what we do, so, if we stay out of others affairs, we would have far fewer enemies! If we are attacked, crush the foe without mercy, go home, and resume our business of selling things to our international customers. The United States is already hated, how about if we are hated AND feared?
