Conservatives negative views towards Muslims actually softened from 30% to 26% while liberals tripled from 8% to 24%. So who’s the Islamophobic bigot now?
(PhysOrg) — In the weeks following the U.S. military campaign that killed bin Laden, the head of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda, American attitudes toward Muslim Americans took a significant negative shift, results showed.
Americans found Muslims living in the United States more threatening after bin Laden’s death, positive perceptions of Muslims plummeted, and those surveyed were less likely to oppose restrictions on Muslim Americans’ civil liberties.
For example, in the weeks before bin Laden’s death, nearly half of respondents described Muslim Americans as “trustworthy” and “peaceful.” But only one-third of Americans agreed with these positive terms after the killing.
Most of the changes in attitude happened among political liberals and moderates, whose views shifted to become more like those of conservatives, the survey found. . . .
Many of the changes in attitudes after Bin Laden’s death were almost entirely due to political liberals and moderates changing their opinions about the threat posed by Muslims in the United States, the survey found.
The percentage of liberal respondents who agreed that Muslims in the United States “make America a more dangerous place to live” tripled after bin Laden’s death, going from 8 to 24 percent. The percentage of moderates believing this increased from 10 percent to 29 percent.
In contrast, the percentage of conservatives who believed this were essentially unchanged — 30 percent before bin Laden’s death and 26 percent following.

I saw an interview once of a Muslim cleric. He stated that only 10% of Muslims were radical. So, don’t worry, only 100,000,000 Muslims are radical. I think even Libs can do simple math.
And the other 900,000,000 quietly approve.
Just off the top of my head, but might it be that the 16% of Liberals and 19% of Moderates hadn’t thought of bin Laden in so long, they’d all but forgotten about him? In this hypothetical scenario, his killing brought everything flooding back, and pow, their attitudes changed. [insert huge question mark here]
May be some of these people were hit by a giant Clue Bat, after they figured out our so called ally Pakistan had been actively hiding Bin Laden.

A new American awakening? Yeah, I know liberals are driven by pure emotion. They see killing Bin Laden as provoking muslims and thus makes America more dangerous while conservatives see that killing the head of a terrorist org makes us more safe. The fact that Ind. see muslims as dangerous in higher numbers (+19%) could indicate a slow awakening.
That percentage of Americans should be 100 PERCENT of Americans have negative views of muslims.
Folks, Islam has NO business on our soil.
