(Reuters) — A huge explosion damaged government buildings in central Oslo on Friday including Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s office, injuring several people, a Reuters witness said.
The blast blew out most windows on the 17-storey building housing Stoltenberg’s office, as well as nearby ministries including the oil ministry, which was on fire.
Reuters correspondent Walter Gibbs said he counted at least eight injured people. The cause of the blast was unknown but the tangled wreckage of a car was outside one building. Police and fire officials declined comment on the cause.
Update at 10:14 a.m. ET: Although the source of the blast is unclear, Al-Jazeera TV notes that Norwegian prosecutors on Tuesday filed a terrorism charge against Mullah Krekar, founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.

(Reuters) — A man dressed as a policeman shot and injured at least five people at a meeting of the youth wing of the party of Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg on Friday after a blast in the capital, Norwegian public broadcaster NRK said.
Police confirmed that shots were fired at Utoeya, an island south of Oslo where Stoltenberg’s Labour party’s youth section’s yearly gathering was taking place. Police were on the way to the island.

Armed police have been sent to Utoya island, 500 miles from Oslo, following reports that a man, dressed as a policeman, opened fire on the young people attending the camp run by the Labour Party.
A spokesman for Norway’s Labour Party says a gunman opened fire at the party’s youth camp outside Oslo, shooting several people following the bomb blast at the government headquarters in the capital.

In other news : Diversity Training in Norway teaches that citizens must tolerate Islam. Muslims are only doing violent acts in response to being discriminated against by non-muslims. It’s really hard to hear about things like this… we used to have it almost on a weekly basis here in Israel until we raise up walls and push security to new heights.
People tend to think that Muslim aggression is pointed just toward Israelis or Jews. this is so NOT true. They are after EVERYTHING and EVERYONE that thinks, acts and has different opinions than theirs.
They kill their own brothers,sisters,mothers just in the sake of honor.
Just don’t offend them. It’s explosive stuff.
We are all a ‘just’ target – Jews, Christians, Hindus you name it.
I think Europe is making a huge mistake with letting too many Muslims in… so is America (but in Europe it’s on a bigger scale, I think)
The fact of the matter is that while European and westerners in general have 2 kids , Muslim have 4-6 kids…do the math. now, wait another 10-30 years and you’ll end up being a minority in your own country.
Now they’ll say they have an historical right for your land… and you know the story.
Really. I’m not trying to be racist but this is the reality.
Europeans find it very hard to understand that Muslims have a very different mentality which most of them feel very comfortable with.
Sure, not all Muslims are bad/evil but reality don’t lie.
It is so sad that 60-70 years ago Europe chose to eliminate 6-7 million Jews that only contribute and hurt no one.
Unfortunately, the world will keep acting hypocritically and blame the Jews for all man kind’s problems .
I hope Norway, someday, will understand…before it’d be too late for them.

Exactly Guy. I was involved in the movement to erect that security barrier. I went through a nearly daily freakout every time my teenaged daughter took a bus to and from school. (We gave up and moved closer to the school.) Even so, suicide bombers attacked the town we moved to (Hadera). Since the fence was built, very few Palithug terrorists got through, but not for want of trying.
Oklahoma City (yes, it was Islamic), Seattle (Jewish Federation), London, Madrid, Mumbai (x2 at least), New Delhi, Moscow, Bali…
And now Oslo. And they all persist on trashing Israel and ignoring the Islamic terrorist in the room.

For what it’s worth, a Twitter account under a name matching that of the alleged gunman (according to Sky News) & with a profile picture matching the several of the alleged gunman, has only one tweet, dated July 17:

I’ve been following this story on the net. Something seems a tad fishy to me with all the conflicting reports. I’ve heard it’s Al Qaeda and a host of other theories. I’m hoping later today/tomorrow we’ll have some more solid info on this bizarre event. Even if the guy is white, he can easily be a convert or maybe it’s the highly unlikely scenario that it’s some fringe nut case. This whole thing is crazy so far.
The reports are eerily similar to the early reports of OKC bombing. The early reports referred to Islamic terrorists and then abruptly changed to focus on McVeigh and Nichols (who were, in fact, connected to Islamists). This is happening here, too. Beware of distractions.

Hardly anybody in the godforsaken media gave a damn about the fact that the CIA was busy toppling regimes ranging from Egypt to Yemen and all points in between, apparently because if something wasn’t done then the whole democracy project in the ME that the State Department is somehow dead set on come hell or high water will fall apart. Plus, Iraq is shaping up to be another problem – again. And believe me when I tell you that America owns Iraq outright, because without that Iran would basically seal the deal, and then it’s nuke city for Saudi Arabia, and you can kiss three buck gas goodbye.
The media by and large go around making excuses for all of this, which really boggles my mind. When in fact, if the public knew about the reason for the tight-lipped, watch-what-you-say routine and Iran was somehow denuked, then basically all of these other so-called threats that basically amount to over-reliance on majority opinion remaining politically correct, would disappear. And that goes for the so-called ‘Palestinians’ as well. Their only ace in the hole is a nuclear Iran, and they have gone all in and timed the big statehood announcement in concert with their best buds in Tehran announcing (brazenly) that, yeah, they’re building nukes. So what?!
When you boil down terrorism to its core, basically whoever is doing it adheres to an ideology that is illogical. One has to imagine a premise based upon annihilation. It’s hard to teach people what all this means without coming across as being an a-hole. Believe me, I’m with the others here. I wish it weren’t like this – but it is. There are some very sick people in this world. It’s sad. Very sad.

Sounds like the McVeigh excuse. BTW – With 80 dead on the island, the shooter surely wasn’t alone, especially with people running in all directions and hidden bombs. And the devastation in Oslo is too great to be the work of one or two car bombs. Don’t believe anything if they pin all of this on just one guy. This was a massive, planned operation.
So it turns out that the guy who did this was a Nationalist and anti-multiculturalism. You know, if this indeed turns out to be the case, he’s just going to become the poster boy for the concerning the “evil anti-muticulturalists”.
