Enough with the victim card, Wasserman Schultz is a piranha with a perm, this is the same woman who recently claimed “Republicans want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws.”
WASHINGTON — Democratic lawmakers and staffers are banding together with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), who recently found her “lady” qualities questioned by Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.).
After Wasserman Schultz criticized West on the House floor recently, West wrote an email to his colleague and called her “the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.”
In a particularly memorable line — one that is apparently inspiring solidarity among lawmakers — he added that Wasserman Schultz was “not a Lady” and “shall not be afforded due respect from me!”
Rep. Bruce Braley’s (D-Iowa) office made pink buttons reading, “We stand with the lady” and was distributing them to lawmakers on the Hill on Friday.
“Congressman Braley and Congressman Wasserman-Schultz are very good friends, and he respects her and the important work that she does,” said Braley’s New Media Director Mark Noble.
Noble added that he had already received dozens of requests from offices asking for the buttons on Friday morning — although none from Republicans — and had handed out nearly 100 buttons so far.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Reps. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), Kevin Brady (D-Pa.), Russ Carnahan (D-Mo.) and Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), along with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), are among the offices that have requested the buttons.
Update: Compares their ridiculous “solidarity” buttons to what Congressman West wears.
Update: Ed passes along this.
