Obama Regime Considering Sending Additional Predator Drones To Libyan War…

So much for the “time limited, scope limited, kinetic military action” Obama promised us.
Comments & pings are closed.(LA Times) — The Obama administration is considering sending more Predator drones and other surveillance planes to bolster the NATO air war in Libya, and has reopened a debate over whether to give weapons to the rebels seeking to overthrow Moammar Kadafi, a senior Defense Department official said.
NATO commanders requested the sophisticated surveillance aircraft after concluding that they were running out of military targets in Libya after four months of bombing and missile strikes against Kadafi’s military forces and command facilities, U.S. and NATO officials said.
The Pentagon’s willingness to consider strengthening the North Atlantic Treaty Organization force in Libya marks an apparent shift since Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta took over the Pentagon early this month.
Panetta has emphasized that winning the war in Libya is one of his top priorities. His predecessor, Robert M. Gates, had urged European allies to do more and had stressed that the U.S. military was overstretched.
NATO commanders are especially eager to obtain more Predator drones, which can remain aloft for a dozen hours or longer, beaming live video and other intelligence data back to targeting analysts on the ground, a senior NATO officer said. The Predator drones can carry two air-to-ground missiles.
“It’s getting more difficult to find stuff to blow up,” said a senior NATO officer, noting that Kadafi’s forces are increasingly using civilian facilities to carry out military operations. “Predators really enable you study things and to develop a picture of what is going on.”

If the Democrats intend to drastically cut military spending, how are we going to pay for all the this?
Two words………………”Obama Lied” !
What happened to our Congressmen who threatened to stop this war?
Where did all the outrage go at Obama waging a war without congressional approval?
The 90 days is long past for the War Powers Act.
Face it, our people in Congress are useless.

Oslo building explosion.
Did the LA Times get WH approval to call it a “war”? According to the WH this whole thing is called something like”we will thump you about the head with some of our military might but not call it a war” war.
…and the Imperial war machine chugs along…
Oh wait, I meant the “kinetic military action” machine. My mistake!
How about drastic cuts to the UN like say about 100% of the payments to this nest of vipers
Well, to be perfectly clear, the O-Zone President DID promise us the Libyan Adventure timeframe would only be ….

Oh yeah, now I remember! It sounded like he said:

Libya is a shining example of the screwed up American foreign policy that Ron Paul has been talking about. Many here (Weasel Zippers) agree Libya is a mess, yet believe Ron Paul is nuts to say American foreign policy is screwed up.
Now Kadafi’s troops have gone geurilla, this thing isn’t going to end any time soom.

I love the REgular Show!
Khaddafi, your months are numbered now.
It would probably be a strategic mistake to divert drones to Libya, when they are already in short supply in active combat areas. The other nations involved in Libya have been highly irresponsible, getting involved in a war which they don’t have adequate resources for, then expecting already overstretched USA forces to carry the burden of the fighting. The drone projects those other nations have been arguing about don’t even start production until 2014, according to news reports. How can anyone be so slow??? They have been wasting their money on their welfare state programs for decades, letting USA carry the burden of their defense, but now USA itself is on the verge of bankruptcy, from trying to emulate those EU welfare state programs.
Of course, drones being the “Master Weapon” (to use J.F.C. Fuller’s term) in the war against the terrorists, USA should have been mass producing many more drones itself long ago, and should immediately ramp up production, etc. Spending on military equipment is one of the most effective ways to stimulate the economy and create jobs, which are badly needed in USA, with our real unemployment rate the worst since the Great Depression in the 1930s.
