Poll: Congress’ Approval Rating Hits All-Time Low, 6%…
Well deserved.
(Rasmussen) — Voter approval of the job Congress is doing has fallen to a new low — for the second month in a row.
Just six percent (6%) of Likely U.S. Voters now rate Congress’ performance as good or excellent, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Last month, Congressional approval ratings fell to what was then a record low with eight percent (8%) who rated its performance good or excellent.
Sixty-one percent (61%) now think the national legislators are doing a poor job, a jump of nine points from a month ago.
Most voters don’t care much for the way either party is performing in the federal debt ceiling debate. The majority of voters are worried the final deal will raise taxes too much and won’t cut spending enough.

At what percentage point can we consider Congress irrelevant and start a revolution? My God we are complacent, aren’t we? Throw the bums, or as many as can be found actually working, out. They should all be jailed for what they’ve done to this country. And I’m not partisan, toss in the majority of Republicans before the November, 2010 elections, too.
6% ?? Isn’t that getting within the margin of error of the poll? How can it go lower? The crap-o-meter has pegged at bottom. Why bother with any more polls?
And they don’t care. As long as they have their jobs and power they could care less what the people think of them.
Of course “congress” includes both the house and senate. I am far less happy with the senate than the house, truth be told. Not that I am very happy with the house, but being fair, they HAVE sent the senate a budget, a bill to address debt/deficit, and a bill repealing Obamacare. The senate has seen fit to either ignore or vote down everything.
I would give the house about 15%, the senate about a -5%. That averages to a 5% overall approval. I guess that’s about in line with the poll.

I’d prefer to put them each in front of a group of out-of-work citizens, veterans, seniors, oil-riggers, etc — and let them “grill” the “honorable” Congress critters for some hours on end.
