House Debt Ceiling Vote Delayed: Boehner Down To The Wire With Vote Count…

(Politico) — House Republican leaders have delayed a vote on Speaker John Boehner’s package to raise the nation’s debt ceiling, at the tail end of a long day of vote counting.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-Va.) office says the vote will still be held Thursday evening, but the delay may be an indication the votes aren’t totally locked down for passage.

For hours, Boehner has been engaged in intense one-on-one meetings with Republicans in an effort to win today’s fight.

Rep. Louie Gohmert, a conservative Texas Republican, emerged from Boehner’s suite of offices — which include Cantor’s space — and said he is a “bloody, beaten-down no.”

Several sources say the South Carolina delegation — which includes five Republicans — could be key in getting the vote across the finish line. Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) visited the leadership office suite in the Capitol Thursday evening.

In the closing hours before a critical debt-limit vote, the speaker was pulling Republicans off the floor and meeting with them in his ceremonial office on the second floor of the Capitol as he tries to make sure he has at least 217 votes to pass his deficit package.

The Farooking Won has threatened to withhold my Military retired check, which I and others earned.

The looters and moochers don’t have any skin in the game while the entitlement allowance created by LBJ’s Great Society and Plantation of Dependency remains untouched.

Mark Levin is saying that this Boehner deal is a vehicle to save Reid and barry. If it passes, it goes to the Senate where the Dem’s will make it worse than it already is. Then it will go back to the House where Boehner will apply the same pressure. We will end up with the debt ceiling lifted to 17 trillion with NO effective cuts.

This is beyond depressing. I talked to a bunch of colleagues today and everyone said the same thing. We all agreed that we are definitely worse off than when barry took office. We are working much harder for a lot less money.

G-d bless Louie Gohmert. He’s usually under the radar but always voting the correct way. Hang tough, Rep. Gohmert. Your constituents will thank you in ’12. Most of your colleagues won’t be able to say that.

Pubs and Dems are no longer working for the taxpayer. The taxpayers are working for the federal government. To get these career fucks out, we need to install term limits. No more that two years, that’s it. Once you leave, don’t come back, like in working as a lobbyist. No more of that bullshit. It’s the only way to get our out of control federal government under control. Depressing times for sure.

Sadly, many Americans don’t get it. Smoke and mirrors, fake “crisis” mode….the usual scenario, set for them to push through something meaningless or even harmful. Let’s hope the real conservatives hang on tight. This has got to be very hard for them.

Mock the Dems all you want….but those bastards get things DONE. We
had the House, Senate, and Presidency in the early 2000s….and got
diddly-squat. Boehner, McConnell, McCain et. al. deserve a special

than wanting to go into battle and take NO prisoners. “Primary” them

If all human life is dependent on government (as the left implies), then how did the first humans survive without it?

    - There were no city services
    - There were no pension plans
    - There were no government regulations to let them know which foods would make their butts big

    How did people manage?

How did Americans manage for over 200 years, if health care is essential for survival, without a national health care plan?

Does the left ever create a program that the public isn’t in dire need of?

Does government serve the people’s needs, or do the people serve the government’s needs?

My Rep in the House, whom I helped get in office by running a website against his primary opponent, has just told me to piss off in a letter back to me; subject the debt. In the letter he said he would not vote to kill the government with so many bullshit reasons that are nothing but lies. And this cocksucker courted the Tea Party and met in secret with us several times. Now, this sumbitch is just like the others – playing the game for his interest which is always a 2nd term. If I have anything to do with it, his ass will be gone November 2012, you can’t trust anyone in Congress now!

I am supported the Boehner Plan. I agree with Rep. Allen West of Florida and Rush Limbaugh. The Tea Party, Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and others are going to have big problem. The Tea Party are loser and have damage already. The Tea Party like to complaining and whining all the time. I am not the member of the Tea Party. I am a Reagan Conservative of the Republican Party. If the Republican Party don’t turn thing around, they will lose in 2012 and it look like that Obama is going back to lived in the White House next four more years during his second term.

I am an independent AND marched with the tea party. I voted for Reagan, both Bush’s and against Slick Willy, Al Bore and Lurch. I’ve stood strong on the conservative side.

If Boehner’s bill passes ALL of the blame for a default would be on the dems and they know it. However, if it does not, obama gets re-elected because he and his party own the media. The republicans are down to one last vote to either maintain the high ground or lose the war. I’ve been wrong before, but that’s how I see it. I hope I’m wrong.

My least favorite was when Reagan raised the self employment tax from 11.4 % to 15.3 %. About 1985.

    jharp,

I originated in Ky. No matter how one votes, if you wanted a job you registered democrat. However, even as a registered democrat my first vote was for President Ford. From 76-2005 I stayed a registered democrat, the party meaning nothing to me as long as I voted conservative. Then in 2007, the democrats committed treason by trying to lose the war in Iraq; including obama. From that point on I’ve been a registered Independent. Except for my absolute disdain for the party of treason (democrats) the party names mean nothing to me. We should have two-term term limits and get rid of the parties altogether. However, since that’s not going to happen I’ll keep voting for republicans until the party of treason finally expires.

Now, if you’re done throwing nasty names, I’ve got my congressman to contact again.
