McConnell: We’re “Very Close” To A Debt Deal…

Stay tuned.

Washington (CNN) — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday that a deal to raise the debt ceiling is “very close.”

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” the Kentucky senator said Republicans and Democrats “made dramatic progress” Saturday over a $3 trillion package of spending cuts that would not include tax increases.

McConnell said he is “very very close to being able . . . to recommend to my members that this is something that they ought to support.”

Although all the details are not yet agreed upon, McConnell said the deal would likely be a two-step process. The first step would include an immediate increase in the borrowing limit, a vote in the Senate on a balanced budget amendment and a new bipartisan committee to recommend more cuts. The second step would allow Congress to disapprove of Obama raising the debt ceiling further.

“You’ll see that this is a process that could get him (President Obama) past the election. We’re working on the combinations that will get us there,” McConnell said. “I’m particularly appreciative that we’re now back talking to the only person in America who can sign something into law and that’s the president of the United States.”

A Republican source close to the negotiations told CNN the goal is $3 trillion in savings, and that the deal would include a $2.4 trillion increase in the debt ceiling.

They are going to give away everything to get a deal when they hold all the cards…DUMBASSES! Damnit! Giving this POS more money to spend beyond the election is a disaster deal!

All this means is, the condom is being put on, and we are going to be bent over, one way or another. At 61, I probably will survive the total destruction of American, economic vibrancy, but there can be NO DOUBT,……… the pain will come, since any deal will be filled with smoke and BS, for our heirs to deal with.

    This only ends with violence.

Cut, cut, cut and we’ll have money to pay off all the debts. Not another penny added to the deficit for the Obumunist to spend.

Turkey Wattle is a weak old man, and bringing his own KY for ‘Bongo and the progLefties in Congress to use on him, and the RINOP

No spending cuts are in this steaming pile, only budget cuts. “Rate of growth” is what these traitors speak of, not actual reduction in expenditures for metastatic BS writ large in our government.

Vast savings could be realized by eliminating rot such as the EPA, Education, Transportation, and Carters’ DOE. But the Parasites now run the Host, and will not willingly go. Somewhere in the shithole known as DC, a bureaucrat is paid to determine the number of holes in cheese that allows it to be packaged as “swiss.” I SHIT YOU NOT. WAF

This will not end well. There are going to be no political solutions. None. ‘Bongo is not the cause of this, he is the Final Diagnostic Indicator that the patient is terminal. Whatver QEn BS gets trotted out, the patient is gone, and is being kept above room temp with O2 and fluids.

The houselights are dimming; grab yer popcorn and get a comfy seat, the show’s about to start

    Prepare Accordingly.

I don’t know about the condom but I can tell you one thing, if this keeps up folks are going to get a belly full of it and then they’re going to find some ropes and a tree to take the weight of their senators.

Any Republican who votes for a deal that allows the debt limit to become a non-issue until after the 2012 elections is caving into Obuttma and the commiecrats and should be horsewhipped into the Potomac River. What these douche bags in Washington refuse to recognize is that the Economic Reality freight train that is thundering towards a crippled Republic tied down to the communist/environmentalist railroad tracks has to be stopped now. If they do recognize this and are refusing to take real action than that makes them even worse than the commiecrats. Cowards!

McConnell and Boehner are part of the problem and not a part of the solution. They have to be removed from leadership positions. Any time either one of these morons announces “close to a deal” you can be certain that we, the taxpayers, will be the ones getting screwed.

Looks like a win for the right. But the right will have to take some time to understand how incredibly they influenced and changed the game.

There will be those who are upset that we didn’t get a debt free America, tax cuts, and and an end to world strife.

This started with Obama wanting a “clean bill”….just raise the ceiling. He wanted to raise Taxes. And he was after more regulations.

He got….No clean bill. No Tax increases, revenues they call em ya know. He got less of a rise than he wanted and its in stages with requirements. He didnt want spending cuts…he got them.

In the big picture, the Tea Party Republicans may have learned a lesson. We don’t have control. And the only way to get it is to stay on message, stay together, and gain the Senate while we hold the house. That will give a semblance of control. If we are lucky, we can get Obama out in the process but the over riding absolute goal is to not self destruct and eat our own young.

Maybe we will see people come together and enjoy this win. If not, its all a waste and we have gained nothing while giving the country to the dems.

McConnell is another politician who has outlived his time. He is still dealing with the left as though you can trust them, which you cannot.

I watched this episode this morning. The senator wasn’t happy with the newcomers to the House and Senate. Said that was like a teenager taking charge of the family checkbook when the parents (older and more experienced reps and senators) should be the ones doing it.

I have an answer for that: NOT IF THE PARENTS ARE DRUG ADDICTS! And that’s the case here. The old school reps and senators are money addicts. Yes, let the teenagers loose to straighten this crap out. They’re only doing what we Americans told them to do last year! Experienced be damned!
