Top White House Adviser Disputes Boehner’s Claim Debt Deal Has No Tax Hikes, “That’s Just Not True”…

Here we go.
Comments & pings are closed.(Reuters) — White House senior adviser David Plouffe said on Monday that he believes the newly minted deal to raise the U.S. debt ceiling will pass both houses of Congress and be signed into law by President Barack Obama.
Plouffe also appeared to clash with House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner, who said on Sunday that the deal included no tax hikes.
“That’s just not true,” he told NBC’s Today show. “If we’re going to do additional deficit-reduction in the fall, it should be tax reform, closing loopholes for the wealthy and big corporations.”

How can anyone think that you can be honest with the Left. They screw the Right like this every time. It’s all about how they “feel”, and like addicts, they need the buzz and will justify anything to get it.
I believe Plouffe.
“closing loopholes for the wealthy and big corporations”
———–
I’m happy with closing ALL loopholes for everyone, as well as eliminating ALL subsidies.
.
““If we’re going to do additional deficit-reduction in the fall, it should be tax reform, closing loopholes for the wealthy and big corporations.”
We have the second highest corporate tax rate behind Japan, corporations are the people who actually produce things.
We should be slashing taxes. Simply not raising them is compromise enough.
K Street and their clients have spents a lot of money for those loopholes, exclusions, exemptions, waivers, and subsidies. They will never let it happen. All they have to do is threaten to take away donations and that’s it. They are represented in Washington, we aren’t
Let’s face facts, the idea or Progressive taxation has failed. It is NOT fair to charge someone a different rate because the party in power perceives a group as evil.
If everyone paid THE SAME percentage of tax, the ‘rich man’ would still pay more. The process would still meet the demands stated by Progressives; “taxation should be based upon the ability to pay”.
Progressive taxation only serves to promote partisan politics. It sustains a living example of an unconstitutional state…….why one persons rights should be different from any other.
We need a consumption-based tax. And yes, the rich man would still pay more. (because he consumes more)
Our existence in the United States has been sustained as long as it is because our is a system of means. It didn’t matter what a person did as long as they followed the same ‘means’ (the rules) as every other citizen. It was only after ideas like ‘Equality of Outcome’ crept into our system that it became corrupt. When politicians started to demand a certain ‘End’, regardless of the ‘Means’, that’s when our system began to fail.
.
The corporate tax rate doesn’t affect large companies. The have lawyers and accountants to avoid it. The small businesses are the ones that pay the full rate and they’re the ones least able to afford it.
It’s in the triggers, there was rumor of the senate putting taxation in the works last fall and doing it in the same sneaky way. Inaction allows the clause to take affect and then no one has their name tied to it for voting it in “specifically”. Perfect in the crook politico eyes, blameless tax increase (revenue).
What a bunch of screaming twitching assholes…
Flat tax.
I don’t know about you but I DO NOT trust the majority of Politicians in Washington because we still do not know what is in the bill and won’t until it’s passed. I just love the liberal progressives crying about how they think they got screwed. YOU GOT SCREWED? What about the Obomacare and the Stimulas that was suppose to prevent this and get America back to work. Liberal Progressives are lazy and out of the 47% that DO NOT pay taxes I’d really like to find out how many of that % are Liberals. My guess is a lot. Democraps keep calling for more taxes and everyone has to sacrafice. Please they mean the working class can suffer and had it over to the lazy bastards that don’t even care about this country.
time to get that TEA up to a boil again.
No deal is still better than a bad deal.
Also, about the Balanced Budget Amendment: The devil is in the details of writing that thing. For example, look at the problems flowing from the way the 14th Amdmt was written. We will soon find ourselves voting on an Amendment to The Constitution written by the same bunch writing and approving all of this bloated legislation and regulation. We had better start drafting immediately so as to imagine the pitfalls of a poor choice of words all the sooner.
Commenters at Monty’s DOOM thread at Ace of Spades HQ are pointing out that the CBO scoring for the deal is based upon the Bush tax cuts expiring so when they expire in 2012, the tax rate will go back up.
Plouffe! There it is!
We got screwed yet again. Nice job, bonehead boehner.
