(Daily Mail) — The economy is threatening collapse despite the emergency debt legislation he signed off yesterday.
So, with hindsight, President Obama rushing off for a lavish 50th birthday party in his honour — starring Dreamgirls singer Jennifer Hudson — was probably not the most sensitive idea.
There has been speculation for days as to whether the President was going to make it to his own fundraising 50th birthday party — a plush affair at a $40,000 a night ballroom in Chicago.
But with the President signing off the debt deal yesterday after the bill went through the Senate at the last minute, it finally appears as if the party is back on.
Tickets for the fundraising dinner cost an astonishing $35,800 a person. Additional contributions of $50 will gain entry to the concert with limited seating, while $1,000 donors receive ‘premium’ seats for President Obama’s birthday.
$10,000 tickets include ‘preferred’ seating along with the chance to take a photograph with Obama.

This is so unfair…. If some at the birthday party can afford to pay more, then they should be compelled to do so by force of law. Stop making the rest of the party-goers subsidize photo-ops for the top 1% of party-goers!!!!

I’m not exactly sure who this man thinks he is. I was thinking he was a public servant not a celebrity. Why is it that someone who is supposed serve the best interest of the entire population of our once great nation seems to be so self serving and pompous as to think that some dumba$$ really give two $h!t$ about a picture with this man! Raise funds some other way!

Oh yeah, what about having a simple birthday party with his family and friends, like most Americans do. And he seems to think that he understands the plight of the working class American. Go buy a Betty Crocker cake of your choosing, cook and decorate it with your family, take a few pictures with your family, put the pictures in an album and enjoy the memories with your family for years to come.

And what must the person you are paying think of you-”what a sorry sap. ” I won’t even pay for backstage access (meet n greet) at concerst with bands/musicians I love. I will just be damned if I will pay $250+ to shake some guys hand and tell him how I great I think he is. I have never paid for photo’s and autographs at Star Trek conventions either, its just pitiful imo. Ya let me me give you money so I can be in your presence-have a little self respect for gods sale.
