Judge Fines ACORN, Said He Wishes He Could Have Sent Someone To Prison For Making A “Mockery” Of Electoral Process…

(Politico) — A judge on Wednesday fined the defunct grass-roots community organizing group ACORN $5,000 for its illegal voter-registration program in Nevada — but said he wishes he could have put someone in prison, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

At the sentencing, Clark County District Judge Donald Mosley said if a person had been before him instead of a corporation, he would have slapped the individual with a 10-year prison term.

“And I wouldn’t have thought twice about it,” Mosley said.

Instead, Mosley fined the group the maximum of $5,000. He said the corporation made a “mockery” of the country’s electoral process.

ACORN pled guilty in April to one count of felony compensation for registration of voters for its role in a program during the 2008 election cycle that provided cash to workers based on the number of voters they registered.

The incentive program — dubbed Blackjack or 21-Plus — gave workers an extra $5 each shift they gathered 21 or more filled out voter registration cards. Prosecutors said ACORN authorized a Las Vegas field worker to run the illegal compensation program.

Was the $5.000 the most he could fine them? Because no matter how much money he does fine them we’re the ones paying for it?

No difference between Al Capone and these people, except Capone probably had some pride in his country.

These are the thugs that got Obama elected….and they should be sitting in prison.

There’s not much consequence for violating election law, might as well go for it, huh? I thought our electoral system was sacred. Stupid me.

Really that $5k fine is separating a small amount of the tax dollars they got fraudulently and returning back to the government. Too bad it couldn’t have been a whole lot more.

I’m sure that judges have some judicial discretion as to punishment and could possibly levy more punishment if warranted, but it would only have been appealed at a higher court. If it were me, the fine would have been $14Trillion; the amount their fraud has cost this country.

what was acorn before it was acorn? And before that? THAT is the question that I think would be most interesting to answer.

If there was one honest media outlet to investigate these criminals ACORN would be facing RICO charges along with their co-conspirators in DC.

At least this judge did something, another judge could have thrown it out or ignored it.

I want someone to go after those that were fraudulent in Harry Reid’s last election.

“what was acorn before it was acorn? And before that? THAT is the question that I think would be most interesting to answer.”

The bigger question, what is ACORN’s next name?

We need to keep following this group, whatever the new name, we need to
keep the focus on them as individuals and what they do inthe future!

If you don’t think ACORN helped to steal the two recall elections we lost in Wisconsin yesterday, you’re not paying attention.

Obama is a criminal thug of the most vile order. He will stop at NOTHING to win in 2012, even if it means trying to declare martial law and himself as dictator.

The good news if he tries, millions of us will take to the streets. We will be ready to defend our country by every available means. We will outnumber them. We will have help from patriots in law enforcement and the military. And we will win the second American revolution.

    Be ready. It’s coming.

And why the hell couldn’t he put the CEO or the director or whom ever was running the show in jail? Seems to me the crook who was driving the getaway car is just a culpable as the bank robber himself.

Trouble is, too many people, including this judge, haven’t a clue as to the depth of criminal activity ACORN and its innumerable subsidiaries are conducting on an international scale.

A-CORN will morph into B-CORN and C-CORN and we’ll be
back to square one with these corrupt bastards. They’re
still there…and will be fully functional in 2012.

@Ozzlefinch….The CONGRESS has to keep their eye on
these rapscallions in 2012….not seek to “indict” them for
a few scattered peccadillos after Obama is re-elected!

If the DOJ cared to investigate, they’d surely find multiple accounts of Federal Election Fraud… which carries stiff prison penalties. However, Eric Holder won’t let anyone question this past election. A fine and a slap on the wrist are the best we can get with Barry’s administration.

I live in Nevada and there is a story behind the story of ACORN.
The Secretary of State, Ross Miller, was elected to both his previous term and his current term by the George (Spooky Dude/Evil Goldfinger) Soros’ Secretary of State Project. The “goal” of the project is to elect Secretaries of State in every state so that they can have “an effect on the election process”. That means that as the managers of elections within any state they in facr do “affect” the outcome of that election. I checked the donations received by Miller during the last election and over 1/3 of the donations came from out of state for “organizations” that have received money from Soros.
That is the reason that the group only received a fine. It was all pre-planned.

If we don’t want to see Obozo re-elected, people better start paying REAL attention to the “new” ACORN groups.

    Get out the vote!!
Obviously this reactionary judge is on the Koch brothers payroll.
I will call my senator asking for a federal investigation on why voters are being disenfranchised. We also need legislation empowering ACORN with stimulus funds to employ more people to get out the vote.
My God man, don’t you know who helped train ACORN workers?
