White House: Of Course Obama Is Going On Vacation Next Week…

Shared sacrifice in Obama’s world means ten day vacations at a $20 million Martha’s Vineyard estate.

Via RCP:

Jake Tapper, ABC News: “You said the President will not rest until the joblessness and the economy are worked out, but the President is obviously going on vacation. But I was wondering, Is there any concern — I understand that it takes two to tango in Washington. We went over that the other day. You need the Congress to be in Washington. We went over that the other day about whether or not you guys should call Congress to come back. Is there any concern about the impression that the President going to Martha’s Vineyard for 9 or 10 days might leave on the American people? And also, if this is such an important issue for Speaker Boehner, for Harry Reid, for President Obama, why the R&R?”

Jay Carney, WH press secretary: “There are a couple of questions embedded in that. Let me go to acknowledge, that, yes, the President does plan to travel with his family at the end of August to Martha’s Vineyard as he has in the past. And I don’t think Americans out there would begrudge that notion that the President would spend some time with his family. It is also, as I think anyone who has covered in the past, either in this administration or others, there is no such thing as a presidential vacation. The Presidency travels with you. He will be in constant communication and get regular briefings from his national security team as well as his economic team. And he will of course be fully capable, if necessary, of traveling back if that were required. It is not very far.”

    YES WE DO!!

His OFFICE is at HOME!! How much MORE time and money needs to be spent to pamper this presidential POOF at some $20 million dollar estate in Martha’s Vineyard???

FUCK YOU carney. I have not been able to take any vacation this year thanks to the economy and the inability of the party in power to produce a budget. I do begrudge the man who has taken more vacation time in the last two years than I have in the last decade.

I’m sure they’re serving “peas” at Martha’s Vineyard. This guy is finished – as is our country almost. The sooner he’s on unending vacation, the sooner I will be a happy camper!

God bless America, our troops, Israel, and fellow humans.

Obama can’t stay on the job but just a few days at a time….he can’t stand any kind of pressure because he has NEVER had to be accountable for anything he has ever done, I think he is almost ready to crack…….( if he has’nt allready )

  17. Bee1 says:

Every time GW Bush spent some R&R at his own ranch in Crawford, Texas, the press hounded him constantly for it.
What Jay Carnival Barker should have said is that Obama is spending the rest of Ramadan with his family.

  19. Asher says:

Actually I do begrudge him. I have not been on a vacation in over 3 years. I work 2 jobs to make sure I barely survive. I work in an industry that has become so regulated that it is a death match just to make a sale at margins that are a fraction of what they were even 10 years ago….before I got in the business.

So to think that he even thinks of taking time off when the future of my children is at stake…is almost criminal. I am sure his children will never be at risk…mine on the other hand will start their adult hoods penniless, jobless, and in debt. I wish I could take them on vacation.

“You can’t begrudge the President for spending time with his family.” I do begrudge Obama for vacationing during this economic turmoil. My father was a small businessman and had to cancel a couple of vacations to tend to crisis with his business. On second thought, I would prefer Obama to be on vacation while intelligent people handled this situation. Can he stay in Martha’s Vineyard until November 2012?

If I wasn’t so busy working and ‘paying’ taxes I could take a vacation, from which I, of course, could always return from if needed. Conversely, Obama is busy ‘spending’ our tax money on his vacation.

  36. John says:
    August 10, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Wow must be nice, I haven’t been on vacation in over three years! Not because I I don’t have the time, being unemployed means you have more time on your hands. No this is due to being poor during the obummer depression.

My god, people need to wake up! I think I and others have sacrificed enough.

I lost my job on election day of 2008, and no I did not vote for obummer. I still found to vote on that day. The day we lost our way.

    YEAH SURE…….

When it comes to curbing unemployment, President Obama “will not rest” until everyone looking for a job can find one, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Wednesday.

“And I’ve said since I took office that my administration will not rest until every American who is able and ready and willing to work can find a job… ”

SOONER OR LATER………IT’LL CATCH UP TO ZER0.

  42. 86 says:

I wish I could afford (financially and time off work) just ONE vacation this year.
