Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard Vacation Will Cost Taxpayers Millions…
Being pictured partying it up on our dime, while the economy goes down the crapper, should do wonders for his image. Can you say tone-deaf?
(US News) — At a time when many more cash-strapped Americans are stuck at home instead of vacationing at the beach, President Obama next week will lead an entourage of several dozens to exclusive Martha’s Vineyard island at a cost of millions to taxpayers.
While technically he is paying for his estimated $50,000 a week rental of the 28-acre beachfront Blue Heron Farm in woodsy Chilmark, the dozens of U.S. Secret Service agents, communications officials, top aides, drivers, and U.S. Coast Guard personnel with him will be covered by taxpayers as with every other presidential vacation.
His 11-day stay will require the Coast Guard to keep ships floating near Obama’s farm, a presidential helicopter and jet at the ready and security agents on 24-hour duty. Armored SUVs dubbed “war wagons” have been flown in to carry the presidential family around the island. It was the same way when former President George H.W. Bush visited Kennebunkport, Maine and Bill Clinton visited Martha’s Vineyard during their presidencies.
Obama’s vacation comes at an awkward time because of the economic turmoil roiling the nation and Wall Street. Surveys show that a growing number of Americans can’t afford even small vacations.

If Obama wants some family time, how about spending a quiet weekend at HOME. Michelle surely doesn’t need anymore “get-out-of-DC” time. She has been to Colorado and Oregon in the past month, all on our dime. We are paying for this family to live it up. Again I would say:

Vacation? We haven’t even been able to do a “staycation” this year thanks to the recession/depression and he’s going on still another one? So much dfor “feeling our pain” as Billy C. would have said. Every headline I see, he is throwing a celebrity laden party or going on vacation or playing golf. Sad thing is, despite all this time off, he is still managing to run the economy into the ground and the dollar over a cliff.

We need to save every dime to send the youngest to college. State Universities in MA cost $ 19,000 a year, tuition, fees, room and board. Jeez, I know, some are paying that for 1 semester, but when I went it was about $6,000 a year, everything included but books.
And the money doesn’t mean he’s going to be getting a college level education. I bet it’s probably gonna be at the HS senior level at graduation in 4 years. I wanted to sue my town for the results of his college math placement testing.

Obama can do as he pleases I suppose as he usually does and when he’s not on vacation he campaigns for fundraisers which should not be allowed as presidential duties but really bothers me is how he acts like a spiritual whore. While professing to be a christian he blesses muslims and hosts them in private dinners to honor their religion by proclaiming as he said, “It’s not them and us it’s just us.”
