Obama’s Ramadan Dinner Guest List Omits Names Of Controversial Attendees From Islamist-Linked Groups…

(TheDC) — The White House’s published guest list for this year’s Ramadan Iftar dinner was much shorter than previous years’ roster. It excluded the names of several controversial advocates who have attended the event in the past, including some who The Daily Caller can confirm did attend on Wednesday night.
“It was a squeaky clean list,” said Durriya Badani, director of the U.S.-Islamic World Forum, an annual event organized by the Brookings Institution’s Saban Center and the Qatari government. The guests on the published list are “not controversial at all,” said Badani, whose name is on the list the White House provided to reporters.
“It was a lot more low-key. . . It was a more intimate event this year,” said Haris Tarin, the Washington director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, whose invitation was kept off the published list. “I have no idea why they didn’t publish [MPAC’s invite]. . . I’m going to learn about that a little bit more,” he told The Daily Caller.
Mohamed Magid also attended but did not appear on the White House’s publish list. Magid is imam of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society mosque in Northern Virginia and the current president of the Islamic Society of North America. Along with MPAC, Magid’s two organizations have drawn criticism from a loose network of online critics who claim they are sympathetic to Islamist groups.
Whether intentional or not, the shorter list limited the risk of a political embarrassment for the White House because it downplayed the attendance of several ideological Islamist groups, including MPAC, said Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, a pro-Western Muslim group. But the White House also failed to invite any of the 25 pro-liberty American Muslim groups and individuals in Jasser’s American Islamic Leadership Coalition, he said.

On Wednesday, July 13, President Barack Obama called Haris Tarin, the Muslim Public Affairs Council’s Director of the Washington, DC, office, to thank him for his and MPAC’s continuous work with the Muslim American community and the nation at large.

The conversation between Tarin and the president is a testament to the ongoing efforts of the Muslim American community and its contribution to our nation’s well-being.
The president also called Reshma Saujani, a prominent Indian American who works with young business owners and advocates, and Erik Kamrath, who was thanked for his efforts with the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, and student aid.
The president acknowledged the difference their work, and other young people like them, make every day by engaging the community to help solve issues that affect all Americans.
MPAC believes the Muslim American community is an integral part of the American fabric. Those who seek to marginalize the voices of Muslim Americans are doing a disservice to our nation and the values it was founded upon.

The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), which recently took to Capitol Hill to fight the anti-Sharia legislation that is being introduced across the country, is now exploiting another one of our freedoms. For instance, on September 11, 2001, on a Los Angeles radio program al-Marayati said, ““If we’re going to look at suspects, we should look to the groups that benefit the most from these kinds of incidents, and I think we should put the state of Israel on the suspect list because I think this diverts attention from what’s happening in the Palestinian territories so that they can go on with their aggression and occupation and apartheid policies.”

The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the ACLU have declared a “Capital Hill forum” to discuss Sharia Law, and how Americans can slow and turn back the progress of Anti-Sharia laws and sentiment.
“Sharia has become an inflammatory buzzword that is getting thrown about and used to craft pre-emptive legislation with little to no understanding of what it is and isn’t,” said Director of MPAC’s Washington, DC, Office Haris Tarin. “In the face of a wave of anti-sharia bills cropping up all over the country, it’s time for a level-headed adult conversation on the issue.”
The point of the convention, in which four “experts” will speak on the “impact of anti-sharia bill,” is to supposedly inform ignorant people of what Muslim law actually is.
“The topic of Islamic jurisprudence in the United States is now becoming a source of heated – and confused – debate,” writes MPAC’s launch article.
The forum is to take place at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC. The experts participating are Noha A. Bakr, Daniel Mach, who is the Director of the ACLU’s Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief, “Executive Director” Gerry Serotta, and moderator Haris Tarin.
