Any president that favors a small government automatically has an easier job of governing than a big government president would.

A government that tries to run every aspect of human life IS RESPONSIBLE for when everything turns to shit. With choice comes responsibility.

The government that let’s people realize their true potential……allows them to be FREE of all responsibilities they never contracted for……the one that acknowledges a FACT of human nature, that people are imperfect-able, that government most efficiently serves the interests of all.

    ———-

“Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. It is not for the sake of a good public administration that it is required, but for security in the pursuit of the highest objects of civil society, and of private life.”

BTW Rick Perry’s ad folks really need to include a few clips of mamma jeans boy footage (on the girls bike, attempting to throw out a baseball…and yes some footage of his ill attempts at golfing, etc.).

Well.. if he really will fight to reign in the out of control fed and get power back into the hands of the private sector then there is hope. He’ll need a good foreign policy as well. No more “nation building” to try and stave off terrorism. It doens’t work in this case, obviously. Dear Leader’s policy of encouraging the overthrow of western friendly middle east governments to allow the MB to take over doesn’t work in the US interests either (sigh)..

Otherwise forget it. This may be our last chance. Don’t think we can endure four more years of hope ‘n change- it would likely be a death knell.

I give Perry credit for this, he was out in force at our local TEA party gatherings and providing leadership there. Saw it in person. Gives one some hope at least.

    good start.

also, when the general election comes around, use all of Hillary’s words of warning against President Turd…. the 3am ad, oh there are so so many, some of them are brutal, like this one:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pPV1yd7sQg&feature=related

so use Barry’s words against him, use Hillary’s words from 2008 against him.

No matter who the nominee is, We The People need to make it clear well before November 2012 that the next President will indeed have extremely limited powers…and that goes triple for Congress.

Don’t write off the O just yet; he has lots and lots of obedient followers, and in addition to the historic types of voting fraud they may well send in large, stupid people carrying clubs to terrorize voters at the polls. A real problem with conservatives is that while they talk and blog and woo-hoo to the noise of war hero, sobriety exemplar, and family values dude Rush Windbag, in the end, they don’t often vote. Talking ain’t voting, citizens. You’ve got to register and you’ve got to GO vote.

    Be still my heart!

Insofar that the Obamacrats will start the “Bush’s fault” crap, all one need say is Obama said in his campaign that he had all the answers to solve the problems they said Bush created and by that token, he’s a dismal, miserable failure. Nor has he used the past 2 1/2 years in “on the job training” rather campaigning, playing golf and vacationing. The worst job result any POTUS has ever delivered. In the workaday world, he’d have been fired a year ago.

Well it’s a good start. The public smear campaign of Rick Perry is going to be something for the MSM to reach new levels of bias.

I predict it will be all the hatred and vitriol we saw from the left on ObamaCare and the Debt Ceiling on steroids.

God Bless Him, His wife, His children and Family for having the courage to go through the next 14 months.

Oh and see ya Mitt! Did you see the story about the sink holes in the tunnels here in Boston? That’s right Mitt, you were too busy campaigning to govern. You see how that’s working out for Obama, too.

Obama.himself already has his lickspittle crowd out there claiming that a large part of the jobs created in Texas was the result of the porkulus bill and such. Perry better be ready for a low down dirty fight, because the Obamasiah is gunnin for him.

I’m most afraid that Sarah will jump in and Perry, Romney, and Sarah will tear each other to bloody ribbons while Obama sits back and drools at taking on the winner after they’ve spent all their money getting the R nod. I pray almost every night that Hillary resigns and goes after him in a primary. I mean, he IS vulnerable. I don’t understand her chickening out. The woman has bigger balls than him, and honestly better qualifications. There has been some serious back room politicing to take her out of the picture.

That was never a good relationship. He only appointed her SoS to get her off his butt and to hopefully cover his ass. As to why she’s not running against him, there are a couple of reasons. She’s covered his ass too much to be recognizable as a free-runner again, or she’s “been shut down.” Something she should be used to from past “experiences.”

I don’t like the fact that Perry was a “Goracle” supporter, a closet demonRat and a globalist who is involved up to his eyeballs in the “Trans Texas Corridor” scheme.

For now, my pick is Michelle Bachman, she has the grit and hits the nail right on the head,….and she has the highest grade against illegal immigration, {B-}, than any of the other candidates, according to “numbersusa”.

Perry hasn’t done much to control that problem in his state and he won’t either because he’s a panderer to them.

Illegal aliens are costing this nation over 300 billion dollars a year for entitlements, etc, yet the politicians refuse to do anything about it.

I’m afraid I have already fallen victim to some of the left’s hype against Perry. I have been busy all day checking with those that might help me get to the truth.
I did some checking on his record, and the vicious rumors are just that.
He voted to ban sancturary cities, he voted to build a fence and close the borders.
He voted against abortion, unless it was in the case of rape, incest, or mother’s health.
Everything I found about him so far, is on the up and up.
He voted NOT to sign on to the global warming pledge that many governors signed on to. (they voted on taxes to aid in preventing global warming) He said NO,
Yes, I can certainly vote for him.

I hope Michelle Bachman “tromps” Perrys’ ass,….hows come he didn’t show up for the debates in Iowa, yet today he comes storming through to steal Michelles’ thunder?

I have a feeling Perry and his GOB Rockefeller RINO buddies think he can grab a royal anointment like GWB did and steal all the thunder away from all the rest of the candidates.

This time around, I think people are going to be more cautious of who they vote for.

What do Rick Perry and Obama have in common? They both inherited credit ratings from George W. Bush. Perry raised his, Obama lowered his.

When Rick Perry goes to bed, he doesn’t count sheep. He eats them.

Rick Perry was on top of the NY Times best seller list for a children’s book called, “Man The Fuck Up.”

Rick Perry has never lost a sock in the dryer. Ever.

Rick Perry has chunks of guys like Barack Obama in his stool.

Rick Perry just saved 16% on his car insurance, and it only took 14 minutes.

It took Rick Perry to make Chuck Norris a real Texas Ranger.

  50. Katherine says:

    @gullah

    You’re wrong.

The trans-texas corridor has been blown competely out of proportion, seeing as when Perry introduced the bill, he paired it with a bill that would have protected people against abuse of eminent domain. Of course that is not mentioned by the paulbots when attacking Rick Perry.

The Paulbots will put out anything on any conservative candidate whose name is not Ron Paul.

At this time, they are just as deceptive as the Left when it comes to misinformation.

  51. Katherine says:
    August 15, 2011 at 6:28 am

    @razzman

Perry didn’t show up at the Iowa debates because they don’t mean a damn thing.

And the Iowa straw polls are nothing more than a fundraising gimmick.

And he is not a RHINO in any way, shape or form.

I understand your frustration, since Michelle Bachman has been toiling away for a while, and suddenly a newcomer comes on the scene and just walks right in and sits down.

But, if you think about it, it was not only understandable for Perry to do that, but it was also the smart move.

Perry already has all of what Bachman has been working for. Why should he work for what he already has? And, if you have the means to do so, isn’t is smarter to sit back and observe your opponents, watch them jockey for position and learn their strengths and weaknesses, without allowing them to study yours. And then there is that thing called overexposure, which can be the death knell for some political campaigns.
