Rick Perry On Fed Chief Ben Bernanke: It Would Be “Almost Treasonous” If He “Keeps Printing Money At This Time In American History”…

Perry’s coming out with both guns blazing.
Comments & pings are closed.(ABC News) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry capped off his first full day of campaigning in Iowa on Monday by suggesting that if the Federal Reserve prints more money between now and November 2012 it would be akin to an act of treason.
“If this guy prints more money between now and the election,” Perry said, “I don’t know what y’all would do to him in Iowa, but we — we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous — or treasonous in my opinion.”
He added, “We’ve already tried this. All it’s going to be doing is devaluing the dollar in your pocket and we cannot afford that. We have to learn the lessons of the past three years that they’ve been devastating. The President of the United States has conducted an experiment on the American economy for almost the last three years, and it has gone tragically wrong and we need to send him a clear message in November of 2012 that new leadership is coming.”

I’m pleased to see Rick Perry on the offensive. There is a lot to go after this regime about.
If Perry had said “bernank is treasonous and we should hang him at the first opportunity” he’d have my vote.
If there is a QE 3, the US Dollar will almost certainly be OFFICIALLY devalued.
That is Obama’s end game, to destroy our currency and our country.
Why is it that it takes one of the candidates to say this?
WHERE is the Republican Party?
@Rufus
The Republican Party is on a vacay from our problems.
It is treasonous (delete “would be almost’). Now you have the reality and gravity of the situation. If you want it Perry, you must take it – so start blasting away!
Back to the gold standard (if the gov. still has gold).
Note to Rick: 1) Skip the “treasonous” part of the statement
2) Add four or five more names to the list starting at the top and working down.
Nice statement however, Perry is Hispandering RINO.
Another faux conservative.
Truth to power! Knives to the hilt, this isn’t a polo match at the rino country club.
ALMOST!!!
It WOULD BE treasonous!
Oh my God…. this campaign season is gonna be awesome!! Perry’s just firing up the BBQ, getting ready to fillet Mittens the pussy, and then shish kabob the Chicago weiner.
For all of his (supposed) faults, at least Perry, like Palin, has something to say and is not afraid of the Left.
Pretty much crickets from most of the other candidates. If this is the level of enthusiasm they can muster, then they must not really want the job.
You mean unlike the Bush’s, Perry is not going to b e a “kinder, gentler, president”?

Just a random thought here …
I wonder what/who we’d find if we checked into Ben Bernanke’s emails, texts, phone call contacts in the last 2.7 yrs?
Anyone with a Hungarian accent?
Come on Rick put the spurs to Bernake, Timmy Tax Cheat and thin skinned OB!
Now if RP should get some lessons from Ron Paul about the details of and the breath of the criminality of Fiat Dollar printing by the Fed!
@BigJake
To be honest, anyone who REALLY wants to be President should be automatically disqualified to be President. JMHO.
Giddy up!
Perrys been doing his homework. He knows where the soft spots are…
In three days he’s managed to get every Leftist in the country to start foaming at the mouth. This is good. People don’t think well when their angry. And they frequently do and write things that they later regret.
Lesson learned long ago, never write anything when you’re angry.
“Almost treacherous”? I beg to differ. Printing more money is treasonous.

Thomas Jefferson:
“To preserve our independence we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our choice between economy and liberty or perfusion and servitude. I place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. It is incumbent upon every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money first by inflation and then by deflation the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the very continent their fathers conquered.”
“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”
