Christie: “Climate change is real”
Part RINO. Part man. Only more RINO than man.
TRENTON — In case anyone had any doubts on where Gov. Chris Christie stands on climate change, he made his position crystal clear this afternoon: It’s real and it’s a problem.
In vetoing a bill (S2946) that would have required New Jersey to stay in a regional program intended to curb greenhouse gases — a program Christie plans to leave by the end of the year — the governor said “climate change is real.”
He added that “human activity plays a role in these changes” and that climate change is “impacting our state.”
Christie’s words are his strongest to date in regards to climate change, a hot-button issue among the same conservatives nationwide who are clamoring for the governor to enter the 2012 presidential race.
Christie’s come full circle on the issue. Last year, he told a town hall audience in Toms River he was skeptical climate change is the result of human activity. He backed off those comments at a conference of environmentalists in May and agreed to meet with climate scientists for a lesson in global warming.
Later that month, during a news conference announcing he would pull the state out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a 10-state partnership intended to curb power plant emissions of carbon dioxide, Christie took another step.
“I can’t claim to fully understand all of this,” he said. “Certainly not after just a few months of study. But when you have over 90 percent of the world’s scientists who have studied this stating that climate change is occurring and that humans play a contributing role it’s time to defer to the experts.”
He added that climate science is complex and “we know enough to know that we are at least part of the problem.”

Warming is not taking place that was the whole point behind climate gate the global temperature has been declining since 1995 & The attempt by the alarmists to “Hide the Decline” was at the heart of the controversy.
I’ve been studying this for over a decade. There are most certainly localized spots where warming is occurring (Texas this year comes to mind); But Europe is having one of it’s coldest summers on record as South Africa & New Zealand are enduring record cold. Some how the media isn’t discussing that …

I just watched a NOVA program about testing the earth below Antarctic’s ice shelf and it was very revealing. What they found by taking core samples from the ocean floor beneath the ice was that the entire region had once flourished with jungles and the leaves and wood from millions of years ago have been brought up. But the killer for me was that the entire region had gone through this cycle, freezing and thawing, MANY times and was considered NORMAL. The show was great until the last two minutes when the liberal scare tactic of AGW was touted and the warning was made that we could be heading for a thawing with the oceans rising 60 feet or more. They threw in that it might not happen for several thousand years but that it was definitely being sped up by man! Too bad that we won’t be here for that good water front property buy in Nebraska!

i’m an engineer. my challenge to these climate change “scientists” is to prove it to me. no bullshit arguments either. engineers are inherently skeptical because we live in a world where theory has to mesh with reality and real solutions. the challenge should be to convince the world’s engineers, not the worlds’ lawyers (i.e., politicians).
One more thing. Christy is anti gun ownership and he is not anti union. He is only anti union in their ability to negotiate for their pension and heath care benefits. If those “90% of the world’s scientists who have studied this (AGW)” have not considered the line of investigation put forth in this article, then the ‘science is settled’ BS they spew is even more egregious. In fact, it reveals that their research on climate [change] has been grossly inadequate, as all of the factors influencing Earth’s climate have not yet been determined.
But, the AGW alarmists are convinced the FRACTION OF A PERCENT of a TRACE gas that MAN contributes to the atmosphere is destroying the planet, and trading carbon credits can fix it. My head hurts.
I am sure that his daily carbon footprint is waaaaaay bigger than mine just when he takes a dump. But really, he can believe whatever he wishes as long as he does not try to push legislation to address it.

The point of the “hockey stick” was to bypass this mathematical truth by showing an explosive growth in temperature, which could not be a cycle; but alas the hockey stick was proved to be bogus data and is no more.)
2. You can’t solve the Navier Stokes equaions, which govern the atmospheric dynamics; in particular in three dimensions flows tend to smaller and smaller scales, meaning no possible numerical resolution is adequate. The small scale flows though act back on large scale flows as a sort of pseudoviscosity, and so they are needed. As a result, every model that pretends to solve the Navier Stokes equations pulls an equation out of its ass to represent large scale viscosity. This is completely bogus. That’s the least of the problems, but the first one any physicist will complain about and not bother reading past. Once it’s garbage anywhere, it’s all garbage.
So in summary there’s absolutely no evidence for AGW.
There’s lots of Baysean evidence however for fishing for grants and political clout.
The choice between that and the earth suddenly having developed a temperature instability after millions of years of huge cycles without one comes down definitively on fishing for grants.
The kind way to put it is that the scientists are operating under a delusion. The power of the herd is strong, apparently.
