Good News: Almost 10% of Employers May End Health Insurance Once Obamacare Exchanges Begin…

So much for that often-told promise about being able to keep your health insurance, eh Barack?

(USA Today) — Nearly one in 10 midsize or large employers expects to stop offering health coverage to workers once federal insurance exchanges start in 2014, according to a survey from a large benefits consultant.

Towers Watson also found in a survey completed last month that an additional 20% of companies are unsure about what they will do.

Another big benefits consultant, Mercer, found in a June survey of large and smaller employers that 8% are either “likely” or “very likely” to end health benefits once the exchanges start.

Employer-sponsored health insurance has long been the backbone of the nation’s health insurance system. But the studies suggest some employers, especially retailers or those paying low wages, feel they will be better off paying fines and taxes than continuing to provide benefits that eat up a growing portion of their budget every year.

Bad news for the Ogabe junta. So far only 30% of small employers and now only 10% of medium to large employers are gonna dump health care. They were planning on/hoping for over 50% from both groups. The faster they get to single payer, socialized medicine, the better. Less time to turn back the clock.

The promise was, made time after time, “if you like your current health care, you get to keep it”. “If you like your doctor, you keep your same doctor”.

    BOLD FACED LIE.

The only thing this POS is actually good at. But then again, he gets so much practice….

The bastard just lies, lies and lies to keep getting what he wants – A big FUCK YOU to whitey and the destruction of this Republic.

It’s way past time to start fighting back.

notice Boehner didn’t even mention defunding this unconstitutional mess. They are hoping Americans will just let it go. Not on your life. It would be great if some of the candidates would take their gloves off and start in on cleaning up the mess the communists have made. Someone said they weren’t going to attack obama on personal issues? huh- if he’s not in prison before the election, they had better. I’m looking forward to his arrest though, and all involved.

These politicians don’t care. They don’t have to subject themselves to this crap. There might be a few but not enough politicians sounding the alarms. My vote goes to the republican who seizes this issue and drags it throughout the campaign.

    @Tina

The House Republicans have passed several bills in an attempt to defund portions of this monstrosity. One of the problems, other than a Democrat Senate, is that the original bill contained provisions which set aside the funds necessary to implement the bureaucracy. The money was allocated on the day the bill was signed. It’s already gone…..

The only thing we can hope for is the Supreme Court overturning the mandate portion of the law (soon). And if not, then we can hope that the 2012 elections give us both the House and a veto proof majority in the Senate, and that the current law isn’t so firmly entrenched by then that removing it will create a disaster.

Don’t blame the Republicans for not having the power which the electorate did not give them.

Best part? Health insurance exchanges are in shambles right now and nowhere near ready to start offering plans by 2014.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/11/health-insurance-exchanges-idUSN1E76A0UG20110711

What will happen is tens of millions of Americans will lose their employer coverage and have nothing but expensive single coverage to choose from, or face steep fines. And you can bet 95% of them will take the fines instead when they see the thousands of dollars per month they’d have to pay otherwise.

What happens when 80% of the country can no longer afford health insurance? Why gosh, we’ll have to adopt the socialist model…

    Obamacare was designed to fail.

Better pray enough Republicans are installed in the Senate and one in the White House who’ll immediately scrap the plan in January 2013, or you will not have health insurance by January 2015.

By this statement, the ranking repubs knew it would be impossible to get rid of from the start, yet THEY CHOSE TO RUN ON IT and promised to send WEEKLY defunding bills just to keep it at the forefront of the public’s mind and embarrass Zero and his cronies. How’s that working out for us?

Boehner is a fraud and a loser, and Cantor has been running ads in his district for 2012 for the last few months! Think he’s worried much? They’ve both got to go.
