Oh My: AFL-CIO Chief Richard Trumka Says Unions Planning To Ditch Democratic Party…

If he’s serious (and I’m sure most of us have our doubts) this would be a haymaker to the Dems reelection efforts.

WASHINGTON — The growing rift between labor and their Democratic allies was on full display Thursday, as AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka told reporters that labor groups are planning to scale back their involvement with the Democratic Party in advance of the 2012 elections.

Going forward, Trumka said, the labor movement will build up its own political structures and organizations rather than contribute to and depend on the Democratic Party’s political operation.

“We’re going to use a lot of our money to build structures that work for working people” Trumka said. “You’re going to see us give less money to build structures for others, and more of our money will be used to build our own structure.”

Trumka’s remarks follow the news that the AFL-CIO will set up a so-called super PAC, allowing the nation’s largest labor federation to spend unlimited amounts of money on political activity for next year’s elections and beyond. Trumka confirmed Thursday that the union is moving forward with plans to create the PAC.

Yeah, like that will ever happen. It’s not like the unions will start supporting Republicans.

“We’re going to use a lot of our money to build structures that work for working people” Trumka said.

Why build when we know you mean the communist party Rich?

When states stop withdrawing union dues from worker’s paychecks, the unions evaporate into nothing. That about says it all. Forced into unions, forced to pay dues – who could resist that?

Maybe if the Unions throw aside all pretenses and kick their money and support to the CPUSA. That would be a disaster for every leftist involved, so I’m thinking Trumpka sees the writing on the wall, and is trying to win a few more concessions before Obama ends up in federal prison.

this has to be a ruse. unions are already in trouble when it comes to their membership. it would be like gay advocacy groups trying to form their own political party. instead of having the full power of the Democrat party with all of it various interest groups, they would be like the green party and have virtually none. and that’s if they can even get all of their union members to vote for “their” party. Liberals are stupid in just about everything except politics. the only way this works for them is if our system of government becomes a parliamentary system.

The headline is misleading – there’s no indication that they’re going to ditch democrats. They’re just going to spend their money “independently” campaigning for democrats so they can sidestep contribution limits.

Dog & pony show. This fat pr*ck is not going to alienate Oblamo or the Demoncrats. Ever. He’s trying to portray “outrage!” and encourage the entire political field to feel the wrath that will be wrought if another bogus jobs stimulus isn’t granted…no questions asked…to Obama when he comes back from his luxe vacay.

We’ll gin up race riots and class warfare, but please help us keep our sweet, sweet gubmint jobs for life!”

Oh, he’s much more than that! This is the real Trumka:

Meet Eddie York. He was a workingman whose story will never scroll across Obama’s teleprompter. A nonunion contractor who operated heavy equipment, York was shot to death during a strike called by the United Mine Workers 17 years ago. Workmates who tried to come to his rescue were beaten in an ensuing melee. The head of the UMW spearheading the wave of strikes at that time? Richard Trumka. Responding to concerns about violence, he shrugged to the Virginian-Pilot in September 1993: “I’m saying if you strike a match and you put your finger in it, you’re likely to get burned.”

A federal jury convicted one of Trumka’s UMW captains on conspiracy and weapons charges in York’s death. According to the Washington, D.C.-based National Legal and Policy Center, which tracks Big Labor abuse, Trumka’s legal team quickly settled a $27 million wrongful death suit filed by York’s widow just days after a judge admitted evidence in the criminal trial. An investigative report by Reader’s Digest disclosed that Trumka “did not publicly discipline or reprimand a single striker present when York was killed. In fact, all eight were helped out financially by the Trumka.”

Trumka should be in jail. How many people can be involved in murder, not spend a day in jail, and 17 years later, get to visit the President of the United States once a week? Now that’s corruption!
