CAIR Outraged “Tolerance” For “Muslim Extremists” Hasn’t Grown…

Although Americans are increasingly tolerant of the open expression of a variety of views, the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 have made most Americans reluctant to extend those freedoms to Muslim extremists, research released Aug. 25 by NORC at the University of Chicago shows.
The finding, reported in NORC’s General Social Survey, illustrates a lingering impact of the horrific events from ten years ago, as well as the consequences on American public opinion of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, said Tom W. Smith, director of the survey.
“These figures are a result of people responding to what they perceive to be a serious threat,” Smith said. The survey found in 2008 that when asked if “A Muslim clergyman who preaches hatred of the United States” should be able to speak publicly, 41 percent of Americans said yes. The percentage remained unchanged in the 2010 survey. When asked if a Muslim extremist should be able to teach, 29 percent of Americans said yes in 2008 and 32 percent said yes in 2010. The survey found that 49 percent of Americans in 2008 would allow a book by a Muslim extremist to be in their local library, while 48 percent approved in 2010.
Yet tolerance has increased for the expression of other non-majority viewpoints. For example, the GSS found that a majority of Americans are no longer opposed to civil liberties for Communists. In 1972, the first year the survey was conducted, 53 percent of Americans felt that Communists should be allowed to speak, compared to 64 percent in 2010. In 2010, 61 percent (versus 33 percent in 1972) said that a Communist should be allowed to teach, and 69 percent (versus 53 percent in 1972) said that a book by a Communist was appropriate for a library collection.

When you set out to destroy everyone who doesn’t subscribe to your faith–and your holy book condones this–you can reasonably expect a number of reactions and emotions. Tolerance isn’t one of them. You want tolerance? You tolerate.

It is beyond bizarre to hear a self proclaimed “extremist” almost demand respect from a community he has no respect for. Should we allow cannibals to correct our table manners?

No, anyone who self-identifies as “extremist” should be followed closely, arrested upon reasonable suspicion, deported BEFORE they can commit an ‘extreme act’, OR KILLED WHERE THEY STAND if they become a physical threat to the nation.

Why is CAIR not more tolerant of my intolerance?
Well, I think we are tolerant. They are still standing, killing, brutalizing and hating. So when we truly become intolerant they will be sent to re-education centers or removed from the face of the earth. Perhaps?
As long as these people can come to this country, live a nice life, go to good schools, make money and enjoy our freedoms, then they have no right to bitch.

A Muslim clergyman who preaches hatred of the US? (take away the Muslim and you’ve got Rev. Wright). The problem with a Muslim clergyman preaching hatred of the US is twofold: 1. There is a tacit approval within the religion that encourages turning murderous words into actions. 2. The religion makes dying while killing non-believers something to be sought after.
Therefore, a Muslim clergyman preaching hate of the US, is actually suborning murder. Which is a crime!
Firstly, this survey came out of the University of Chicago. It’s suspicious to begin with. Exactly who were surveyed?
But then they just pat themselves on the back:
“Two things in particular account for this trend: an increase in education and changing attitudes across generations,” Smith said”. Liberal indoctrination is seeing the fruits of it’s labor. And,
“College attendance in particular, which has increased in the last 40 years, has prompted people to become more open-minded, he said. In addition, younger generations do not feel the same threat from some of the controversial groups as did their parents.” Because colleges are dumbed-down and liberal indoctrination at the colleges is going according to plan.
It’s a win-win. I just can’t understand what CAIR’s problem is. It appears we aren’t as totally stupid as the Liberal Higher Education Elite has been leading CAIR on to believe. The aren’t getting their money’s worth, from all the donations to American College and Universities. BUMMER.
