There is an unlimited supply of stupid, but you can find lots of people trying to consume more of it than their fair share. Many of these are found in governmental bureaucracies and the groves of academia. They couldn’t get jobs in the real world.

I don’t understand. Was he saying that we need liberal bias or was he saying we don’t?

“Was he saying that we need liberal bias or was he saying we don’t?”

    ———

It was an admission of guilt.

He concedes that when the public is lied to on a regular basis, it affects their voting behavior.

From what little i saw of the interview last night i came away with…….If it were not for the A_HOLES in the liberal media this country wouldn’t be in the mess that it is. This country is a lot more conservative than they let on and this guy said it and put it on paper.

Well, I knew there had to be a reason that Obama has Helen Thomas’ portrait tattooed on his ass.

And something would be wrong with voting like Texas or Tennessee?

I heard this professor/author interviewed on the Dennis Prager show – he’s actually a conservative.

That would make more sense, wouldn’t it Ringo. The Lefties never admit such truths

If you go to his website you will see he’s actually Conservative by his favorite blogs list like Powerline and Iowahawk.

The South is the only true states left so his comment of voting like Tennessee and Texas is correct.

    I took Groseclose’s little survey at his website. I scored a 3.

    In comparison, Michele Bachmann= 4.1, Jim DeMint= 5.1, Newt Gingrich= 11.4
    and Richard Nixon=12.5.

    And I’m from Tennessee. :)

  12. Shay says:

Bachmann was actually a negative 4.1.

The test basically asks how you would vote on certain bills.

I don’t know why WZ is trashing this guy. He’s a conservative. The title of his book is “Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts The American Mind.” His heroes are Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, Dick Cheney, and Chris Christie.

    @Shay:
I should’ve had my glasses on. You’re right–
    Bachmann scored a -4.1.

The million dollar question is how would Perry have voted? Me? 26.6 just under Ron Paul!

Groseclose is clearly saying that if ALL media bias was eliminated (not the media, just the bias) that, shock, Americans would vote much more conservative and, consequently, much more sensibly.

It’s a little discouraging that some readers here can’t figure out that this academic is actually offering empirical evidence that the media is biased. Instead they just lash out at him for being an academic. I took a class from him years ago and I assure you he could get a private sector job, he just happens to enjoy doing what he’s doing.

Let’s get it together folks. At the very least be smart enough to recognize who’s an ally and who isn’t.

  20. Texmom says:

Well said, Caleb. It was clear to me that he is saying that we are being propagandized and without that, most of America would vote conservatively. I sure have no argument with him:)

The corporate sponsored “news” is little more than propaganda anyhow.

MSNBC, Fox, CNN…all just different flavors of bullshit.

I scored an 11.3 on his quiz. I checked his book on Amazon and found this quote from my favorite politician, Congressman Allen West:

“In writing this book Professor Groseclose has done a great service for our country.”

Professor Groseclose is definitely a conservative and considers Ronald Reagan one of his political heroes: http://www.timgroseclose.com/biography/

I had always considered myself a centrist. I visit the Huffpo as much as I do this or other conservative sites and have voted Dem and Rep in several elections. Voted in the last TN senate race for Dem Ford instead of Corker and voted for Clinton twice. I scored 12.4 on the test and that was right next to Richard Nixon at 12.5. According to the list I am more conservative than Lindsay Graham (R-S.C., 1995-2009) PQ=14.9
    John McCain (R-Az., 1983-2006, 2009) PQ=15.8
    Joe Scarborough (R-Fla., 1995-2000) PQ=16.4
    Jack Kemp (R.-N.Y., 1971-86) PQ=20.4

Guess I am just getting sick and tired of all the stupid spending.

    Good Luck and God Bless…
