Tea Party Groups: Romney Avoiding Us Like The Plague…

No surprise.

(Daily Caller) — Mitt Romney says he’s on the same page as tea party activists, but some national organizations affiliated with the movement say the GOP presidential candidate hasn’t made much of an effort to get to know them.

In fact, these tea party organizers say they can’t recall the former Massachusetts governor ever speaking at a tea party gathering, unlike nearly all of his primary opponents.

“To my knowledge, Mitt Romney has never requested to participate in one of our tea party events or rallies,” said Jacqueline Bodnar, a spokeswoman at FreedomWorks, the Washington, D.C.-based organization led by former House leader Dick Armey. The group helped organize events like the 9/12 March on Washington in 2009 and annual “tax day” rallies.

Bodnar said there has been very little contact between FreedomWorks and Romney. The group’s president, Matt Kibbe, briefly met with Romney during the 2010 election season, she said.

Another national figure in the movement, Mark Meckler, a national coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, also said Romney “certainly never reached out to our organization, not that I’m aware of.”

Mitt…just give it up. When you piss off the Tea Party, then you`ve lost their support.

Romney avoids you because he’s terrified of taking a hard stance on anything. Beware! If he wins the presidency, we trade a quick death for the United States for a slower death for the United States. RINOs are just Liberals who move slower.

In the months ahead, we can expect to see the the TP movement become more angry, more volatile, and even more dangerous as it desperately seeks to remain relevant, but as the recent polling has shown, it is far, far too late for the Tea Party Movement to save itself or the hateful doctrine it embraces. It was always a movement founded on lies, disinformation and fear and such a movement cannot, and will not survive in the greatest country in the world. http://wp.me/pNmlT-JV

I’ve been contacted twice by Romney’s campaign. The first by mail — I returned the mailer with a note “NO RINO’S FOR PRESIDENT”. The second by phone — told them that I would not support him for president, financially or otherwise. The caller quickly hung up.

Hopefully, he’s getting the message that the TeaPartiers just do NOT support his candidacy.

But Romney does have the solid support of the “Just For Men” users.

To: DAn H – You are kidding, right? What a stupid post. Are you that ignorant or just misinformed? Your post shows that you don’t know what you are talking about and only listen to liberal/leftist talking points (which are lies and manipulations) from the liberal/leftist MSM. Those talking points couldn’t be further from the truth.

Grow up and pay attention, if you dare. Sheesh, you are pathetic.

DAn H, how many Tea Parties have you been to? How many actual TP members have you spoken with? Or have you based your opinion on what you’ve been told to think about the TP?

I clicked on the link you provided, but exited that site after the 1st paragraph. I noticed 4 things…..

    1. My viewing of the site increased it’s number of hits by 10%…ever.
    2. Grammatical error in the title.
    3. Another grammatical in the first paragraph.
    4. The first paragraph has 4 historical errors and misrepresents the facts.

Go peddle your smack on the DailyKos…we see thru for insipid tripe.

Common phrase where I come from is “The middle of the road is where dead possums lie”. Romney obviously doesn’t know this axiom as he’s just another Upper East Coast blueblood, aka RINO.

Dan H kind of has a point; the Tea Party has devolved into a hive-mind of warmongering zealots and yeah, Americans are getting tired of all the endless wars.

Funny how the 2007 Tea Party was anti-tax as well as anti-war before the media turned it into the monster I see today. Because, y’know, spending trillions of dollars to fight some imagined enemy 5,000 miles away isn’t exactly what most would call fiscally conservative. How’s that 16 trillion dollar debt working out for you?

The Tea Party has become just another name for the status quo.

That said, Romney is still a dick, but at least he calls Perry “Governor Gardasil”.

    @Sentinel…
The variation on the “common phrase” down here in Texas is-

“The only things you find in the middle of the road are yellow stripes and dead armadillos”
    Just sayin…
