Dem Rep. Andre Carson Defends Saying Tea Partiers Want Blacks “Hanging On a Tree”…

New tone!

(Politico) — A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me . . . hanging on a tree.”

The explosive comments, caught on tape, were uploaded on the internet Tuesday, and Carson’s office stood by the remarks. Jason Tomcsi, Carson’s spokesman, said the comment was “in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in Indianapolis regarding Congress’ inability to bolster the economy.” Tomcsi, in an email, wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

“The Tea Party is protecting its millionaire and oil company friends while gutting critical services that they know protect the livelihood of African-Americans, as well as Latinos and other disadvantaged minorities,” Tomcsi wrote. “We are talking about child nutrition, job creation, job training, housing assistance, and Head Start, and that is just the beginning. A child without basic nutrition, secure housing, and quality education has no real chance at a meaningful and productive life.”

He made those comments because of “Congress’ inability to bolster the economy.” That means give us more handouts.

This kook … Andre Carson… is accusing his fellow Congressmen of racism?

    Of wanting to kill him..?

    WOW…

Of course Carson has proof of this… right?

because to make baseless outlandish accusations… would be lying…

I love to see an investigation of this guy – how he got elected – who put him up for election – was the election corrupt? More importantly I want to see Congress investigate and explain to the American people who in which department is setting the quotas for immigration, how people are getting into the country and who sends them here? I truly do not understand the mass influx of people from certain countries who hate us.

Just remember, Andre is not the brightest bulb. His grandmother a US Congresswoman) got him a job at the State of Indiana where he couragously manned a desk. He led picketers outside of the hall where V.P Cheney was going to speak at during the 2004 presidential campaign. He and his co horts were yelling various unoriginal leftist slogans. I approached and asked if he really believed the crap he was spewing. He said that things were worse in the country because of Bush and wanted to know if I was better off than 4 years ago. I said that I was and after the blank look, ok even blanker look passed, he said that it was because of his grandmother that my family’s situation was improved. I said that I don’t recall his grandmother helping me in any way when I was working my ass off to get through college and I was sure that my wife would not recall her doing anything to help her get through college either. I told him that it was because of our efforts to achieve a better life that got us into a better position than we were in 2000. All he could say was “Julia carson, she did it for you”. I looked at my friends and said, who’s a bigger fool, the idiot or the person who tries to talk sense to an idiot? As we walked away, he said ‘julia has gotten you everything’ or some stupid comment like that, we were too busy laughing at the other protesters at that point to care.

30 years ago they would have been tried and shot for treason.

Yes … because hanging African-Americans from trees is so economically advantageous, jag-off…

The difference between libel and slander is simply one of the medium in which the defamatory statements are published for public consumption. Both slander and libel do require that the defamatory statements be published, which means that they cannot be issued in such a fashion that they are not widely available and are instead kept private.

Other than that, however, the same statement might be considered libel or slander depending upon the exact medium in which the statement was made. A statement which is made in print would be considered libel, whereas a statement which was made in a transitory medium would be considered slander.

I think the Tea Party has had enough mud slinging – these types of attackes are unwarrented – this guy goes too far.

The previous illustration is an example of the ridiculous stereotypes most white people abhor. However, Mr. Carson made the decision to wallow in the mud with the race baiters, slugs, and “entitlement” groups so he must pay the penalty. Anyone who even listens to this nonsense is too far gone to be rehabilitated.

Mr. Carson, you sir are in dire need of a dose of humility.

He is no more “from another country” than you are. As for the rest of the ‘setting quotas for immigration,” Mr. Carson is not in the Executive Branch, has no real power in the House, and mainly serves as an excuse for Mark Levin to drum up racial discord and anger, so that little twerp can make a buck of angry, old white people.

I think people like Andre Carson and Maxine Waters are deliberately provoking the Tea Party, desperately wanting and hoping for some kind of violent response. To borrow a phrase from Rahm Immanuel: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” They need a crisis to vindicate their lies, hold on to power and justify shutting down all opposition to their leftist agenda.

They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land. They shout, “Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we saw him do it!” Psalm 35: 20-21

Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!” or say, “We have swallowed him up.” Psalm 35:25

May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be appalled at their own shame. Psalm 40:15
