Pic Mug Shot Of The Day…

Say hello to Barack’s illegal immigrant uncle, Onyango Obama.

BOSTON (CBS) — An illegal immigrant from Kenya who was arrested for drunk driving in Framingham recently is reportedly an uncle of President Barack Obama.

67-year-old Onyango Obama was arrested last Wednesday, August 24 after police say he nearly ran his SUV into a police cruiser and later failed several sobriety tests.

Former Ohio Cleric And Founder Of The American Center For Islamic Research Says Any Israeli Who Enters Egypt Should Be Killed…

Not exactly the first time Salah Sultan has called for the murder of Jews, even when he was living in Ohio.

(MEMRI) — Following are excerpts from a statement by Egyptian cleric Dr. Salah Sultan, founder of the American Center for Islamic Research, Columbus Ohio, which aired on Al-Jazeera Network on August 26, 2011:

Sallah Sultan: As someone who has studied Islamic law, specializing in Islamic jurisprudence, I am calling to kill the [Israeli] ambassador, not just expel him. Our sons were killed in our country, on our land, and our sons are being killed in Gaza by an occupying enemy. Brothers and sisters, the genuine rulings of Islamic law can no longer be silenced. I am prepared to confront any Islamic scholar who says otherwise.

When General Issam Al-Tarsawi headed the anti-narcotics unit, he said that heroin and other drugs were first brought to Egypt in the suitcases of Zionist diplomats, which are not subjected to search. That’s right. Before the [Camp David] Accords, Egypt did not have these drugs, these crimes, or these images.

Show me one good thing that came out of the normalization of relations with the Zionist entity. You may say: We got the Sinai. Did we really?! To this day, we do not have authority over the Sinai.

Once I said: Any Zionist — tourist or other — who enters Egypt must be killed. We will not kill tourists from any [other] country. We stress that this fatwa is directed only toward those Zionists, who destroyed our country, killed our people, and shed our blood on our land.

Tea Party Groups: Romney Avoiding Us Like The Plague…

No surprise.

(Daily Caller) — Mitt Romney says he’s on the same page as tea party activists, but some national organizations affiliated with the movement say the GOP presidential candidate hasn’t made much of an effort to get to know them.

In fact, these tea party organizers say they can’t recall the former Massachusetts governor ever speaking at a tea party gathering, unlike nearly all of his primary opponents.

“To my knowledge, Mitt Romney has never requested to participate in one of our tea party events or rallies,” said Jacqueline Bodnar, a spokeswoman at FreedomWorks, the Washington, D.C.-based organization led by former House leader Dick Armey. The group helped organize events like the 9/12 March on Washington in 2009 and annual “tax day” rallies.

Bodnar said there has been very little contact between FreedomWorks and Romney. The group’s president, Matt Kibbe, briefly met with Romney during the 2010 election season, she said.

Another national figure in the movement, Mark Meckler, a national coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, also said Romney “certainly never reached out to our organization, not that I’m aware of.”

Too Funny: Obama Needs Two Teleprompters For Three-Minute Speech…

And the left wants us to believe he’s the smartest man who has ever lived.

(Washington Examiner) — President Obama required two heavy-duty teleprompters on Monday during a three-minute speech in which he nominated Alan Krueger to serve as chairman of his Council of Economic Advisers.

“I am very pleased to appoint Alan and I look forward to working with him,” Obama said, staring at the large, flat-screen monitor to his right, then shifting his eyes to the teleprompter on his left. “I have nothing but confidence in Alan as he takes on this important role as one of the leaders of my economic team.”

Obama did not give Krueger a chance to make any comments on Monday.

CNN Poll: Perry Extends Lead Over Romney To 13 Points, 27%–14%…

Mittens flip-flops on another issue to make himself more appealing in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1.

Washington (CNN) — A new national survey is further proof that Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s entrance earlier this month into the race for the White House has dramatically altered the battle for the Republican presidential nomination.

According to a CNN/ORC International Poll of Republicans and independent voters who lean towards the GOP, Perry now sits atop the list of Republican presidential candidates, with strong support from most demographic groups.

The survey, released Monday, indicates that 27 percent of Republicans nationwide support Perry for their party’s nomination, with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who’s making his second bid for the White House, at 14 percent. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin follows at ten percent, with Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani at nine percent, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, who’s making his third bid for the presidency, at six percent. Every one else listed on the questionnaire registered in the low single digits.

The survey follows a Gallup poll out last week which also placed Perry at the top of the GOP field. Other polling released in the past week also confirms the findings of the CNN and Gallup surveys.

“Perry’s support is higher among Republican men, at 32 percent, than Republican women, at 23 percent, but he has more support among either group than any other candidate,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

According to the survey, Perry supporters tend to be older and have higher incomes, but the longtime Texas governor also tops the list, albeit by smaller margins, among lower-income Republicans and those under 50 years old.

Iraq: Suicide Bomber Disguised As Beggar Attacks Sunni Mosque In Baghdad, 24 Killed…

Ramabomb in full swing.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) — A suicide bomber posing as a beggar detonated his explosives inside a major Baghdad Sunni mosque on Sunday, killing at least 24 people, including an Iraqi lawmaker, just as they finished evening prayers, hospital and local officials said.

The bomber wearing a cast on his arm blew himself up in the main hall of the Umm al-Qura mosque, an important Sunni religious site in Baghdad and one frequented by top Iraqi Sunni leaders in the capital’s western Ghazaliya district.

Attacks on Sunni and Shi’ite mosques are especially sensitive in Iraq where a power-sharing government still struggles to overcome the sectarian slaughter that dragged Iraq to the edge of civil war after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.

“The suicide bomber entered pretending he was hurt. He entered the main prayer area. We started to get suspicious. But when the prayers finished, he blew himself up,” said Ahmed Abdul Razaq, who was at the mosque.

Poll: 57% of Americans Still Want Obamacare Repealed…

(LifeNews) — The government-run Obamacare law that includes abortion-funding and rationing concerns for pro-life advocates is not the central topic of political discussion these days as most Americans focus on the Republican presidential primary and the state of the economy.

However, a new poll out today from Rasmussen Reports shows 57% of Americans still want to see the Obamacare law overturned in Congress via legislation to repeal it. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of likely voters has 46 percent strongly favoring repeal. Just 37 percent oppose repeal and only 25% percent oppose it strongly.

That 57 percent mark is the highest support for repealing Obamacare since mid-July and ties for the highest mark since 58% and 62% supported repeal in March polls Rasmussen conducted.

“The number of voters who Strongly Favor repeal of the national health care law ties the highest level reached in several months, as most continue to believe the law will push up health care costs and the federal deficit,” the polling firm reports. “Overall support for repeal is up two points from last week. The percentage of voters who Strongly Favor repeal ties the record high last reached in July. The last time this finding was higher was in mid-March when 51% Strongly Favored repeal.”

“Most voters have favored repeal of the measure every week but one since it was passed by Congress nearly 18 months ago. During that time, weekly support for repeal has ranged from 47% to 63%, although it’s generally been in the mid-50s for months,” Ramussen continued. “Just 34% of voters now think the health care law will be good for the country, a finding that has ranged from 31% to 41% since its passage. Fifty-one percent (51%) believe the law will be bad for the country, while only three percent (3%) feel it will have no impact.”

Poll: Majority Say World Wouldn’t Be Much Different If Gore Beat Bush In 2000…

Liberal heartache.

(Politico) — The world today would not be a much different place if Al Gore had won the 2000 presidential election, said more than half of the Americans surveyed in a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll released Monday.

The national poll found that 56 percent of all respondents said things wouldn’t be too different if Gore had won the presidency instead of George W. Bush.

Just a quarter of those questioned said they think the world would be a better place if Gore had won, and slightly less than half of all Democrats polled — 44 percent — agreed. Only 6 percent of Democrats said they thought things would be worse, and 48 percent said the world would not be much different.

For Republicans, 57 percent said the world would not be too different, with 34 percent saying it would be worse and just 7 percent thinking the world would be a better place.

Over half of independents, or 62 percent, said the world would not be much different if Gore had won.

Gallup: Approval of Federal Gov’t Hits All-Time Low, Favorable View Ranks Dead Last Among All Industries…

Shocker.

(The Hill) — Americans have a more favorable view of every other industry — including oil and gas — than of the federal government, according to a new poll released Monday.

Only seventeen percent of Americans have a positive view of the federal government.

According to Gallup, this is the first time the federal government has ranked at the bottom of a list of industries, displacing even the oil and gas industry which came in second to last this year.

The poll results highlight the negative opinion of government most voters have indicated in various polls following the controversial debt-ceiling vote in early August. Most polls have focused on Congress overall, or the separate Republican and Democratic parties, while Gallup focused on the image of the government overall.

Americans had a more strongly negative view of the government in this year’s poll than they have since Gallup began polling this question in 2001. In 2001, more Americans had a positive view of the federal government than negative. The government’s favorable rating has fallen since 2004, with a brief reprieve in 2009.

Libya: Hundreds Of Islamic Militants Freed From Tripoli Jail…

There’s going to be some serious blowback from Obama’s Libyan adventure.

Tripoli, Libya (CNN) — Hundreds of Islamist militants were among the prisoners freed from a notorious Tripoli prison this week, according to a former Libyan jihadist.

The freed militants had been imprisoned in Tripoli’s Abu Salim prison by Moammar Gadhafi’s regime during the height of the insurgency in Iraq, according to Noman Benotman, once a senior figure in the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. Benotman said he believes as many as 600 militants may have been among the prison population at Abu Salim.

It’s not known how many prisoners were held in the vast facility. Human Rights Watch said Gadhafi’s prisons “have been filled to the limit in the last few months with thousands of people who were arrested for taking part in the anti-Gadhafi protests, or because of their suspected support for Libya’s democratic opposition.”

The human rights group, which recently had a team visit the prison, estimates that before the uprising, there were a few hundred Islamists held at Abu Salim.

Benotman, now a senior analyst at the Quilliam Foundation in London, said the freed prisoners are Salafists, embracing a puritanical interpretation of Islam that has gained ground in Libya in recent years.

Gadhafi’s regime imprisoned thousands of suspected pro-al Qaeda militants after the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq stoked radicalization in Libya, especially in its impoverished eastern provinces. According to Benotman, those rounded up by the regime included militants who had tried to travel to Iraq and some who had returned from fighting against U.S. forces there. He said many of them had already been released by the Gadhafi regime.

Wednesday’s prison release, which occurred as rebel forces took control of the Abu Salim area of Tripoli, comes as Islamists are taking on an increasingly prominent role in the fight against the Gadhafi regime — to the concern of some in the West.

Former members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) have assumed leadership positions in several rebel brigades, according to Benotman. Their current prominence, he said, was due to their quick mobilization — as armed opposition replaced peaceful protests in Libya — and their valued military skills.

Jihadi Work Accident: Taliban Suicide Bomber En Route To U.S. Military Base Killed When Explosives Prematurely Detonate…

Feel good story of the day.

KABUL (AFP) — A suspected suicide bomber driving an explosives-laden vehicle detonated Sunday while driving towards Afghanistan’s biggest US-run military base, authorities said.

The explosion appeared to have happened prematurely on a road about five minutes’ drive from Bagram Air Field, 50 kilometres (31 miles) north of the capital Kabul, the interior ministry said.

“Again the enemies of Afghanistan failed to achieve their goal. A suicide bomber with his bomb-filled car detonated before reaching his target,” the statement said.

Dem Strategist: “If The Election Were Held Next Tuesday Obama Would Lose. That’s How Bad It Is”…

(The Hill) — President Obama arrived back in Washington after his August vacation to deal with a hurricane, but Irene was only the first of many tests awaiting the embattled commander-in-chief.

With his approval ratings at the lowest point in his presidency, Obama returns to face a restless Congress, a hurricane that tore up the East Coast, continued unrest and uncertainty in the Middle East and an ailing economy that is not expected to improve much before the 2012 elections.

“If the election were next Tuesday he’d lose. That’s how bad it is,” says a Democratic strategist.

Obama and his Republican opponents in Congress left Washington in early August bruised and bloodied after the protracted debt-ceiling fight. As both congressional leaders and the White House were exhaling — pleased that a potential default was dodged — Standard and Poor’s downgraded the nation’s credit rating. That sent markets tumbling across the globe, sparking more partisan finger-pointing.

Audit: Thanks To Union Contract USPS Spent $4.3 Million On Employees Doing “Nothing”…

Unions in a nutshell.

(Politico) — The U.S. Postal Service, which expects to lose $7 billion this year, spent $4.3 million on employees who did nothing in the first half of the year because of requirements in union agreements, an audit found.

The amount paid for so-called “stand-by time” has “significantly decreased,” down tens of millions of dollars from what was spent just a couple of years ago, says the Washington Post, which obtained a copy of an audit.

Labor agreements mandate that postal employees have a certain amount of guaranteed work hours, which means that they can not be laid off during periods of low mail volume or unplanned events like the breakdown of equipment. This leads to “stand-by time,” in which employees spend the day doing nothing — for example, waiting in a cafeteria or breakroom.

In fiscal year 2009, the Postal Service logged over 1.2 million hours in stand-by time, costing taxpayers more than $30 million dollars. This declined to around $20 million in 2010, and is on track to be less than $10 million this year.

Report: Secretary of Education Arne Duncan Offered to Meet Liberal Actor Matt Damon at Airport Before Protest Critical of Obama…

How absolutely pathetic.

(Newsbusters) — Washington Post education columnist Valerie Strauss reported Monday that people in the Obama administration made several desperate attempts to lobby actor Matt Damon just before he spoke at last month’s “Save Our Schools” rally in Washington D.C., blasting an emphasis on standardized tests and insisting he would never have become a movie star under that kind of education system.

Citing unnamed sources in sensitive spots, Strauss claimed “Duncan was willing to meet Damon at the airport when he flew into the Washington region and talk to him on the drive into the city, according to the sources. Damon declined all of the requests.”

This the way Democrat politics work. Liberal actors parachuting in for protests get White House political officals and cabinet secretaries hovering for a chance to prevent any rumbles in the liberal media. The media was obviously pro-Obama enough that the Damon protests didn’t attract network news coverage.

NY Times: Hey, Let’s Make Ugly People A Protected Class, Offer Them Same Legal Protections As Handicapped…

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Fugly) seen nodding in approval.

(NY Times) — BEING good-looking is useful in so many ways.

In addition to whatever personal pleasure it gives you, being attractive also helps you earn more money, find a higher-earning spouse (and one who looks better, too!) and get better deals on mortgages. Each of these facts has been demonstrated over the past 20 years by many economists and other researchers. The effects are not small: one study showed that an American worker who was among the bottom one-seventh in looks, as assessed by randomly chosen observers, earned 10 to 15 percent less per year than a similar worker whose looks were assessed in the top one-third — a lifetime difference, in a typical case, of about $230,000.

Beauty is as much an issue for men as for women. While extensive research shows that women’s looks have bigger impacts in the market for mates, another large group of studies demonstrates that men’s looks have bigger impacts on the job.

Why this disparate treatment of looks in so many areas of life? It’s a matter of simple prejudice. Most of us, regardless of our professed attitudes, prefer as customers to buy from better-looking salespeople, as jurors to listen to better-looking attorneys, as voters to be led by better-looking politicians, as students to learn from better-looking professors. This is not a matter of evil employers’ refusing to hire the ugly: in our roles as workers, customers and potential lovers we are all responsible for these effects.

How could we remedy this injustice? With all the gains to being good-looking, you would think that more people would get plastic surgery or makeovers to improve their looks. Many of us do all those things, but as studies have shown, such refinements make only small differences in our beauty. All that spending may make us feel better, but it doesn’t help us much in getting a better job or a more desirable mate.

A more radical solution may be needed: why not offer legal protections to the ugly, as we do with racial, ethnic and religious minorities, women and handicapped individuals?

We actually already do offer such protections in a few places, including in some jurisdictions in California, and in the District of Columbia, where discriminatory treatment based on looks in hiring, promotions, housing and other areas is prohibited. Ugliness could be protected generally in the United States by small extensions of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Ugly people could be allowed to seek help from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other agencies in overcoming the effects of discrimination. We could even have affirmative-action programs for the ugly.

The mechanics of legislating this kind of protection are not as difficult as you might think. You might argue that people can’t be classified by their looks — that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That aphorism is correct in one sense: if asked who is the most beautiful person in a group of beautiful people, you and I might well have different answers. But when it comes to differentiating classes of attractiveness, we all view beauty similarly: someone whom you consider good-looking will be viewed similarly by most others; someone you consider ugly will be viewed as ugly by most others. In one study, more than half of a group of people were assessed identically by each of two observers using a five-point scale; and very few assessments differed by more than one point.

UK’s Channel 4 To Mark 10th Anniversary Of 9/11 With Comedy About Suicide Bombers…

Vile.

(Daily Mail) — Channel 4 is to spark outrage by airing a controversial comedy film about Muslim suicide bombers as part a season of programmes to mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

In a move set to shock TV viewers, the broadcaster is to show Four Lions, the 2010 film by Brass Eye comedian Chris Morris, just days before the memorials take place for the terrorist outrages in New York.

Insiders at the Channel 4 have revealed that Morris was looking to create even more controversy by trying to air the film on the actual day of the anniversary, but bosses at the channel have resisted this.

The plans were revealed at the Edinburgh Television Festival by Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt, the former BBC1 controller, who said the film would form part of the ‘mix’ of programming to mark the anniversary.

Speaking at a session called No Risk Please, We’re Prime Time, she said: ‘I’ve just had an interesting and rather robust conversation with Chris Morris about Four Lions and the scheduling of that and how close it is to 9/11.

Somalia: Two Young Boys Beheaded By Al-Shabaab…

This is on top of the 11 civilians al-Shabaab recently beheaded in Mogadishu.

MOGADISHU (Reuters) — Somalia’s Islamist al Shabaab militants beheaded at least two young boys in Mogadishu, an activist said on Friday, in the latest of a string of attacks showing they still had the power to strike despite a well publicised withdrawal.

At least seven other youths were reported beheaded in the city in recent weeks, Fartun Abdisalan of the Elman rights group told Reuters.

The outgunned and divided rebel force pulled its fighters out of bases in parts of Mogadishu earlier this month, after waging a four-year insurgency against government and African Union troops.

Analysts said it was only a matter of time before the militants regrouped and re-emerged in Mogadishu, as a guerrilla fighting force.

Residents told Reuters al Shabaab militants had started broadcasting messages across the city, using mosques’ loudspeaker systems, urging followers to behead spies and other enemies.

“We understand they (al Shabaab) want to engage in guerrilla fighting and the beheading is just to shock residents so that no one turns against them,” Abdisalan said.

“Two beheaded bodies of young boys were thrown in the former spaghetti factory building and in the livestock market yesterday (Thursday),” she told Reuters.

Obama’s Long-Lost Uncle Surfaces After Being Arrested For Drunk Driving While Living As An Illegal Immigrant In Massachusetts…

Let me get this straight, Obama’s “Auntie” Zeituni Onyango is an illegal immigrant living in Boston on every form of welfare Mass has to offer (which is a LOT) and now his uncle is also found living here illegally as well? Talk about assploding irony.

(The Australian) — BARACK Obama’s long-lost “Uncle Omar” has been arrested for alleged drink-driving outside Boston and detained as an illegal immigrant, The Times can reveal.

The arrest ends a mystery over the fate of a relative that the US President wrote in his memoir had moved to America from Kenya in the 1960s, although the circumstances of his discovery may now prove to be an embarrassment for the White House.

Official records say Onyango Obama, 67, was picked up outside the Chicken Bone Saloon in Framingham, Massachusetts, at 7.10pm on August 24. Police say he nearly crashed his Mitsubishi 4×4 into a patrol car, and then insisted that the officer should have given way to him. A report filed with the Framingham District Court said that a breathalyser at the police station registered his blood alcohol at 0.14mg/100ml of blood, above the state limit of 0.08mg.

According to a local newspaper, Mr Obama was charged with driving under the influence and driving to endanger, as well as failing to use a turn signal. He was detained as an illegal immigrant because the US Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement has an outstanding warrant for him because he was previously ordered to be deported to Kenya.

The Times has established from his birthdate that Mr Obama is the Uncle Omar mentioned in President Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father. In the 1995 book, President Obama writes of “the uncle who had left for America 25 years ago and had never come back”.

In 2008, The Times mounted a search for Uncle Omar. Instead of finding him, we discovered his sister, President Obama’s Auntie Zeituni, who was living as an illegal immigrant on a Boston housing estate. Uncle Omar and Auntie Zeituni are the children of President Obama’s grandfather Hussein Onyango Obama, by his third wife Sarah, the woman President Obama calls “Granny”, because she raised his father, Barack Sr, who was Hussein Obama’s son by Hussein’s second wife, Akumu.
