Report: Obama Will Propose $300 Billion Stimulus Bill…

Be afraid, be very afraid.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The economy weak and the public seething, President Barack Obama is expected to propose $300 billion in tax cuts and federal spending Thursday night to get Americans working again. Republicans offered Tuesday to compromise with him on jobs — but also assailed his plans in advance of his prime-time speech.

In effect, Obama will be hitting cleanup on a shortened holiday week, with Republican White House contender Mitt Romney releasing his jobs proposals on Tuesday and front-running Texas Gov. Rick Perry hoping to join his presidential rivals Wednesday evening on a nationally televised debate stage for the first time.

Lawmakers began returning to the Capitol to tackle legislation on jobs and federal deficits in an unforgiving political season spiced by the 2012 presidential campaign.

Adding to the mix: A bipartisan congressional committee is slated to hold its first public meeting on Thursday as it embarks on a quest for deficit cuts of $1.2 trillion or more over a decade. If there is no agreement, automatic spending cuts will take effect, a prospect that lawmakers in both parties have said they would like to avoid.

According to people familiar with the White House deliberations, two of the biggest measures in the president’s proposals for 2012 are expected to be a one-year extension of a payroll tax cut for workers and an extension of expiring jobless benefits. Together those two would total about $170 billion.

Actually that is music to my ears. The fool has painted himself into a corner, again. It is too large a number to ever get through, and too small to appease his base for “having tried”. “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” Napoleon Bonaparte.

“$300 billion in tax cuts and federal spending” – passing from one hand to the other. The one-year extension of a payroll tax cut is not a cut, but a campaign ploy.

His campaign speech to the joint session should be canceled. At lease the GOP members should refuse to attend. They wouldn’t have the guts to walk out.

When Barack Obama was a teenager in Hawaii, he came up with an idea to
make extra money. He knew that if he could get pineapples from the Dole
pineapple plant near the North Shore of Oahu, he could easily sell them to
tourists on Waikiki Beach. He and a school mate, Kimo, shared this idea
with Barack’s mentor, Frank Marshall Davis. Frank told them they could use
an old pickup truck he had out back.

So, Barack and Kimo drove to the Dole plant early on Monday morning and
bought ripe pineapples for one dollar each. They then drove to Waikiki
Beach and sold the pineapples off the back of the truck for one dollar
    each.

They did this for five days in a row. On Friday, after they had sold their
last pineapple, Kimo looked at Barack and said, You know we are buying
these pineapples for one dollar each and we are selling them for one
dollar each. We aren’t making any money! Barack thought for a moment and
replied, We have no choice, we’ve got to get a bigger truck!

You now fully understand everything there is to know about Barack Obama’s
    economic plans.

  29. Separate Reality says:
    September 6, 2011 at 8:53 pm

    @MADJACK

    That’s funny.

Obumbler’s economic policy is to buy the pineapples for $1 and sell 53% of them for $1 but give the other 47% away to non-contributers to taxes and society. Why is there a deficit?

  33. Xavier says:

According to bs’s handpicked Council of Economic Advisors, the last stimulus cost 278,000 per job created. So 300B is in line with the million created jobs he has promised in recent speeches.

Frankly I thought the price would be double that so he’d have some extra cash to give the undocumented workers and teachers unions.

  34. S. Wolf says:

Lest WE Forget… Allowing a Country to Work VS Letting a Country Work… Obama to Use Unions for Votes

Unions would be dead, buried and the stink would have been long gone if it were not for the secured sanctuary of large monolithic voting blocks guaranteed by feeding into the delusion. Obama and crew continue to put forth the message which shows a continued beliefe that we, the american people can buy our way out of all the economic problems faced by our nation. And today, as Barack went among the dead of american workers there can be no misunderstanding in the intent or purpose… VOTES.

    – POTENTIALLY; DANGEROUS, IDIOTS!

Obama is not stupid, he’s malevolent.
His whole purpose in life is to destroy the U.S.A.
He imbibed sedition and hatred with his communist mother’s milk and has been surrounded all his life by people who hate the U.S.A.

A side benefit of the economic destruction of the U.S.A. is that he takes your wealth and gives it to his criminal buddies.
When/if you finally get a patriot into the White House, I hope someone has plans to do a detailed audit of where all this money is going, followed by criminal prosecutions for fraud, embezzlement and treason.

If Republicans have one goal, it’s to finally prove that letting the business cycle take care of itself — and that means eliminating as much government interference in our economy as possible — to shed the malinvestment made by the government over the last eight decades is the ONLY WAY OUT of this mess.

Yes, this will mean a major short-term crash in the markets and in unemployment. But Americans will start living within their means again, start saving again, and then AND ONLY THEN will the US have capital to invest and the means to buy again.

It’s your responsibility to take care of yourself. If you can’t, then it’s not the taxpayer’s job either. We’ve got our own problems.

Wherever it went, he sees a need for more of it to go there… “there” being somebody’s pocket, including his. $500 shoes and shirts. Millions of voters to buy off. A slush fund for the Obamas’ future. Union buddies. Hush buddies. Lawyers. Clerks of Court. Judges. A billion dollars only goes just so far, you know.

De-regulate businesses, Idiot, and jobs will grow. You’re not even trying to do your job even though half of America is telling you HOW to do it!! You are just trying to destroy this economy one billion at a time. House members? Can you hear us? Stop this insanity now!
