Biden: ChiComs No “Threat” To America, Wants “A Successful China”…
Turning America into a has-been economic superpower has been this administration’s goal from day one.
(Politico) — Vice President Biden, who recently met with China’s top officials on a five-day visit there, wrote in an op-ed on Thursday that Chinese growth isn’t a “threat,” and that it’s good for the United States.
“Some Chinese worry that our aim in the Asia-Pacific is to contain China’s rise,” Biden wrote in The New York Times. “I reject these views.”
Biden, whose foreign policy experience includes years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the United States is “clear-eyed” about China’s military abilities and intentions, and that “a successful China can make our country more prosperous, not less.”
Based on his recent trip, Biden said he was convinced that the Chinese government agrees that Beijing and Washington share common challenges and responsibilities, and that there are important incentives for the two countries working together.
